By the time Samantha arrived at the hotel room, only Grant was there. A chill crept up her spine.
"Where's the film crew?" Samantha asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"What film crew? I just wanted to introduce you to someone, but I haven't yet," Grant replied with a smirk. "It's all up to you now."
Samantha realized she'd been played. She was trapped.
Grant had been chasing after Samantha for what felt like forever, sending her flowers and makeup, and finally offering her a staggering five million. But she remained unmoved, a fortress of indifference. Grant wasn't used to this; usually, women threw themselves at him. But Samantha was different; even five million couldn't sway her. She wasn't the most beautiful or the best actress, yet she acted like she was all that. Yesterday, she'd ignited Grant's possessive side completely.
He couldn't stand her playing hard to get. She had the upper hand, and he wasn't having it.
Today, after handing over five million, he was determined to take control.
"I haven't spent a cent of your five million," Samantha said, trying to stay calm. "I'm going home to get your money."
She moved to leave, but Grant was already blocking the door.
"You think you can just walk out?" he sneered, lifting her chin.
Samantha's eyes blazed with anger. "What do you want?"
"What do you think any man wants?" Grant's gaze was cold. "Your little games don't work on me."
With that, Grant shoved her onto the bed and started unbuckling his belt.
"Cordelia's meddling now? No!" Samantha spat out, her anger towards Cordelia growing. She blamed her cousin for her predicament. The two had never gotten along, with Cordelia discouraging Samantha's pursuit of Harold. Now, after being assaulted by Grant, Samantha imagined Cordelia would be thrilled to tell Harold.
With that thought, Samantha closed her eyes tightly, her chest heaving.
Grant leaned in, pinching Samantha's cheek. "Stick with me, take good care of me, and you won't regret it."
Samantha shook off Grant's hand fiercely.
Grant thought to himself, women just like to put on an act.
He lingered in the room a moment longer before leaving a key behind.
