The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan) novel Chapter 736

Cordelia suddenly remembered that her mom's old house was indeed just a stone's throw away from the Jade Tower. It had been ages since she last set foot in the place. As for Adrian, he seemed to have moved out recently, and Cordelia had no clue where he'd gone. They used to be siblings in name only, and now they were practically strangers with different fathers and mothers.

"No one's living there; I'll check it out tomorrow. It's in a pretty old neighborhood," Cordelia said. "Is Harold okay with that?"

"He should be," Ronan replied, glancing at Janice for confirmation. "Harold doesn't mind an old place, right?"

Janice nodded. "He doesn't mind."

"Alright, I'll swing by tomorrow."

"What time should we plan for? I'll bring Harold along. Want to check it out together?" Ronan asked Cordelia.

"Sure, that works for me," Cordelia responded.

After hanging up the phone, it hit Cordelia that Ronan had his own place nearby. Why didn't he offer his house to Harold instead of hers? It was obvious he was looking for an excuse to get in touch with her. The man was crafty.

But then again, the thought of someone with his stature trying so hard to win her over was kind of sweet. Isn't it just like a woman to make excuses for a man?

She shot Ronan a message on Messenger, letting him know she'd be free after her 4 p.m. class.

"Shall I pick you up at the school gates after Harold finishes work?" Ronan asked.

"Sure."

Chapter 736 2

"Alright, I will. And Cordelia, you've done me a huge favor. How about I treat you and Mr. Evans to dinner?" Harold proposed.

"That's not necessary, you're being too polite."

"No, it's the least I can do. You're saving me a ton of money by not charging rent. I'm not helpless; you don't need to go out of your way for me," Harold pressed.

Ronan noticed the way Harold looked at Cordelia, a mixture of gratitude and unspoken affection.

Chapter 736 3

When Harold offered to take them out for dinner, Ronan readily agreed, eager for any chance to intersect with Cordelia's life.
