"The day we were supposed to go to city hall to get married—it wasn't that I didn't want to show up. I was suddenly hit with an intense headache and passed out. You were already gone when I woke up and tried to find you."

Hailey was shocked. "What? So that's what happened! Celine, what's wrong with Adam? What's happening to him?"

"The Heartstring Venom?" Adam repeated.
