The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 1228

Foreman.

Foreman had been in Solmaris recently. He had even kidnapped Simone and coerced her into stealing corporate secrets. Although Leonard had turned the tables on him and exposed him as the mastermind, it proved the man was resourceful.

Therefore, the one who stole his cargo had to be Foreman.

"That disgusting fly," Leonard hissed. "I should have swatted him last time. How dare he come back for more! Does he really think he can get away with stealing from me?!"

The assistant asked timidly, "Mr. Lerman, what… what should we do now?"

Leonard's brow furrowed. The shipment was extremely valuable. Handing it over to the Eder family for free was out of the question. But that treacherous snake Foreman had already spread the rumor that he was double-crossing them. If he didn't handle this carefully, the Lerman family's reputation would be ruined, and no one would do business with them again.

As he was contemplating his next move, there was a knock on the door. Simone entered with Aurora. "Brother, Aurora is here to see you."

As his sister, Simone had stayed by his side at the hospital ever since the incident. Though there had been an explosion at the estate, news of Leonard's hospitalization was kept under tight wraps. An injury to Leonard was no small matter; if word got out, countless enemies would seize the opportunity to come after him. That was why, despite the misunderstanding with the Eder family, they hadn't told them Leonard was injured.

Leonard glanced at his assistant. "You can go."

The assistant knew a solution wouldn't be found immediately. He greeted Aurora and Simone with a polite smile and left the room.

Aurora walked to the bedside. "Leonard, are you okay?"

Leonard looked worse than she had ever seen him. His ear was wrapped in gauze, and his arm was neatly bandaged, but the sleeve below it was empty.

His gaze fell upon his missing limb. His face changed. "Where's my arm?"
