Magnolia Hearne was momentarily stunned upon hearing her words, then remained silent, "Have you made up your mind?"
Scarlett Jennings nodded.
In the past two days, she tried to sense Araminta Gold’s presence through Liora Gold and attempted to locate the mountain she saw in her dreams, but neither attempt yielded results.
The only clue she had left was the Nine-tailed Fox deep in the mountains of Samuel Chalmers’ dream.
Returning to the clan to find the Nine-tailed Fox might be the only way to find Samuel Chalmers.
Besides that, she wanted to find a way to properly cultivate her demonic power.
Not a tricky method of integrating demonic power into a talisman, but rather a proper way to freely manipulate the demonic power within her.
Magnolia Hearne couldn’t quite describe the feeling in her heart, as if she had been waiting for this day to come ever since her return.
But when the day truly arrived, she felt a sense of inevitability.
She knew Scarlett had made up her mind.
"Then go."
Though she could teach her how to control the demonic power of a Half-Demon, Scarlett’s situation was clearly different.
Especially with Samuel Chalmers on that side...
She had no reason to stop her, nor could she.
"Just go."
She said,
"But remember one thing, you are my daughter, Magnolia Hearne, not even the Clan Leader of the Hearne Family has the right to bully you. If someone gives you trouble, just fight back."
Even if she had to overturn the entire clan, she would back her up.
If... if she were accidentally chosen as a "container," even at the cost of her own life, she would bring her back.
Scarlett Jennings looked at her mother, feeling a tenderness deep in her heart, her lips curving slightly as she responded,
"Alright."
...
Two days later, the Jennings Family’s private jet landed at Capital Airport.
Scarlett Jennings and Magnolia Hearne descended the gangway of the plane and saw a car waiting nearby.
Beside the car stood a man in a suit.
The snow had just fallen, and the roadside snow hadn’t melted yet; it was the coldest time, but the man seemed completely unaffected by the chill. He stepped forward and politely spoke to the two,
"Miss Hearne, Miss Scarlett, Mr. Wen sent me to pick you up."
Magnolia Hearne glanced at the man across from her without much emotion, gave a brief acknowledgement, and led Scarlett Jennings toward the car.
Just as they were about to get in the car, the man suddenly asked,
"Apart from you two, are there other demons?"
He had sensed a third presence.
His gaze instinctively turned to Scarlett Jennings’s luggage, where a fierce-looking turtle head slowly emerged, glanced at him, then quickly shrank back, seemingly chilled by the cold outside.
The man looked at the head that had suddenly popped out and then retreated, his expression cleared, and he laughed as he asked Scarlett Jennings,
"Is this a new type of demon pet? It certainly has an impressive look."
Scarlett Jennings also glanced at him and did not respond, except to say, "It’s called Shellback."
Also known as Turtle Shellback.
Upon hearing Scarlett Jennings suddenly introduce it, the man was initially stunned, then suddenly stood still,
"Almost forgot to introduce myself; I’m Sylvia Murray, an assistant to Mr. Wen at the Mystic Regulation Office."
He paused for a moment, inexplicably winked at Scarlett Jennings,
