The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus) novel Chapter 731

Zachary and Sophia chatted along the way. When the elevator reached the basement, they walked out one after the other and headed straight to Zachary's car.

Zachary opened the trunk and showed Sophia the gifts he'd prepared and how to present them to his parents later.

After Sophia nodded to show that she understood, they got into the car and drove toward the Holt residence.

The Holt family lived in an upscale villa district in the southern suburbs of Dithoria, quite far from the city centre.

Holt Group had been handed over to Zachary a long time ago. Edmund and Luna had long since retired and now lived relaxedly on a farm, growing vegetables and raising chickens in their yard.

Although Zachary had previously worked as a psychologist, he had only ever taken Sophia in as a patient. Plus, he knew how to delegate his time well. Even though he was not often present at Holt Group, the company was doing very well.

Edmund and Luna, seeing that he genuinely loved Sophia, had no objections to their getting together. Perhaps it was because they simply loved who their son loved, or because Luna, as a woman herself, felt sympathy for what Sophia had been through.

Thus, after learning that Zachary was bringing Sophia home today, they had prepared everything in advance.

At this moment, the couple stood at the villa entrance, glancing frequently toward the neighborhood gates.

They didn't know how long they waited before finally spotting Zachary's car approaching.

Luna immediately let out a breath of relief. "They're here. They're finally here! Did you tell Zane to come home early today?"

"I did, but he went hiking with his girlfriend. He said he'll only make it back in time for dinner."

As Edmund answered Luna, he straightened his clothes. "Honey, check my outfit. Is there anything wrong with how I look?"

Luna laughed and gave him a pat on the shoulder. "Relax. You look handsome."

Only then did Edmund breathe a little easier. "Good."

Soon, Zachary pulled up in the parking space in front of the villa, then he and Sophia got out of the car.

"Dad, Mom," he called.

"Mr. Holt, Mrs. Holt," Sophia greeted them softly while Zachary opened the trunk. "Sophia brought gifts for you."

"That's great!"

Luna walked up to them and took Sophia's hand in hers. "We've heard Zachary mention you so many times, but we never dared to contact you directly. Sophia, I hope you won't blame me for not meeting you until now."

"Mrs. Holt, it's my fault. This is my first time visiting, though it's been so long." Sophia blushed and answered softly, her body a little tense. It would be a lie to say she wasn't nervous or afraid.

"Silly child, what are you even saying? Come inside."

Luna pulled Sophia into the house. "Darling, carry in the gifts Sophia brought. Zachary has come home so many times and never once gotten us anything, yet Sophia brought gifts when visiting for the first time.

"It shows that our son isn't as thoughtful as a daughter."

Edmund just chuckled and obediently went to fetch the gifts.

"Sophia, come on. I've asked Zachary in advance and know what you like to eat, so I prepared all your favorite dishes today."

Luna led Sophia straight to the dining room.

The dining table was huge but divided into two sections. The dishes on one side looked fragrant and delicious, clearly the work of a skilled chef. The other side was a disaster, looking more like an unknown cuisine.

Luna rubbed her nose awkwardly. "This side is what I made. That side is what Edmund made. My cooking isn't great, but my love for you is no less than his."

"It's okay, Mrs. Holt. You did great too. This looks so good."

On the way here, Zachary had told Sophia that Luna never learned to cook when she was young, spoiled and cherished by her family. After marrying Edmund, there was even less of a need to enter the kitchen.

But when she found out Zachary was bringing Sophia home, Luna insisted on personally making a meal for her future daughter-in-law, practicing for a long time in advance.

Sophia glanced at Zachary, who nodded seriously. "That's right, Sophia. If I ever bully you, just go ahead and tattle to them.

Luna patted Sophia's hand. "Eat up. I've also prepared a gift for you. After lunch, I'll take you to see it."

"Okay. Thank you, Mrs. Holt. Mr. and Mrs. Holt, you should eat too."

Ivan and Samantha had separated long ago. Ivan had later cheated on her with Julia. As such, Sophia had never seen what a normal loving couple looked like.

But at this moment, she saw it in Zachary's parents.

Luna kept placing food onto Edmund's plate, while Edmund kept piling food onto Luna's.

Edmund looked at Luna with such gentle, doting affection. It looked like he was saying, "My honey is so adorable and I love her very much."

Luna naturally accepted his care, not finding anything unusual about it.

After the meal, Luna pulled Sophia outside the villa, leaving Zachary behind with Edmund.

"Sophia, let me take you to see your gift. After Zachary finishes talking with his dad, he'll come and find us.

Luna led Sophia through the villa district.

They walked two houses down, and Luna soon handed Sophia a keycard.

"Sophia, go ahead and open the door."

Sophia let out a quiet gasp of surprise. "Open the door to that house ahead?"

"Yes. This is my welcome gift to you, so you should open it yourself."
