After calling out to each other, Zachary and Sophia exchanged a smile, their eyes full of warmth.
Zachary reached out his hand, and Sophia placed hers in his without hesitation.
"I'm entrusting the rest of my life to you," Sophia said softly.
Zachary replied, "Don't worry, Mrs. Holt. You'll have me for the rest of your life."
Zachary's voice trembled slightly. Then, standing at the entrance of the courthouse, he pulled Sophia into a firm embrace. They stayed in each other's arms for a long while before getting into the car hand in hand and leaving together.
Back at Sophia's house, she didn't bother packing her things. After all, Zachary lived just across the hall, and she could come and go between her family home and her husband's anytime she pleased.
"Sophia, Zachary. Edmund, Samantha, and I have discussed the arrangements for the wedding banquet. We've got everything prepared. Take a look and let us know if you want to change anything. The three of us can adjust it."
The moment they returned, Luna pulled Sophia aside.
"Sophia, the three of us agreed that it's better to hold the banquet soon since you want a honeymoon trip. Dragging it out will just leave us parents feeling unsettled. And I'm sure Zachary would be unsettled too.
"More importantly, we just want you to be happy and chase your dreams as soon as possible."
"Mother, I have no objections," Sophia said softly. Having gotten their marriage certificate, it felt natural for her to call Luna "Mother".
"Sophia, here's your welcome gift." Luna beamed, pulling a thick stack of cash from her purse and stuffing it into Sophia's hand.
"Come on, darling," she called to Edmund with a grin. "Sophia just officially called me 'Mother.' Where's your welcome gift? It's time for her to call you 'Father' too!"
Chuckling, Edmund fished another thick stack of cash from his jacket pocket and walked over. "Alright, my turn. Let's hear it."
Sophia blushed, her voice barely above a whisper. "Father."
"Yes! That's what I'm talking about!" Edmund laughed heartily, so loud that it filled the whole room. "Honey, did you hear that? She called me Father! Hahaha!"
Behind them, Samantha and Jonathan's whole family just stared, speechless.
They wondered if Zachary's parents were always this happy.
"Alright, Sophia. Come pick a dress."
Luna pulled Sophia to sit back down on the couch. That's when Sophia realized how efficient the elders were. While she and Zachary had gone to register their marriage, the adults had already arranged the dress, banquet hall, guest list, and other minute details.
"This one," Sophia said without hesitation, choosing the gown she liked at first sight.
"Alright, we'll go with this one.
"The guest list is pretty simple too. Take a look. If there's anyone you're not comfortable with, we'll cross them out."
Sophia glanced at the list. Everyone on it was someone she was familiar with—Marcus, Natalie, Olivia, and the few people from Goodwill Pharmacy who had looked after her. On the Holt family's side, there were just Zane, Edmund, Luna, and a few important elders.
"Sophia, these elders are quite wealthy. You'll be able to collect a good sum from the welcome gifts when you greet them officially," Luna whispered in Sophia's ear. "Besides, they're all very fond of you."
"Thank you, Mother," Sophia said after reviewing the list. "I don't have any objections. I think this arrangement is great."
"Will the schedule not be a little tight?" Samantha asked, slightly worried. "The banquet is happening in just three days. I feel like I still have so many things I haven't prepared for Sophia."
"It's okay. There's no need to prepare anything. Whatever you prepared would just end up with Sophia anyway," Luna said with a laugh. Samantha thought about it carefully and realized it made perfect sense.
"In that case, there's nothing more to worry about. If Sophia and Zachary have no objections, we'll proceed with the wedding banquet."
"We have no objections."
"Leave these next three days of preparations to us. You two just rest and recharge," Luna said.

The words had barely faded when Zachary leaned in, pressing a tender, lingering kiss against her lips.
That night, wrapped in each other's arms, every moment of waiting and every ounce of effort finally found its answer.
Two hearts, truly—finally—became one.
…
After their simple wedding, Zachary and Sophia set off on their journey three days later.
Their first stop was Maplecrest in Brookwyn, a place Sophia had long dreamed of visiting. The maple trees stayed fiery red all year round, creating a rare and stunning sight.
Hand in hand, they hugged and kissed under the trees, asking passing strangers to help them take photos and videos.
After spending a week in Maplecrest, Zachary took Sophia to their next destination—another place she had longed to see since childhood.
This time, it was to the mountains to see vast, endless stretches of lush greenery.
Sitting in a helicopter, gazing down from above, Sophia was utterly awestruck.
Nature was so grand and magnificent. At the same time, it sparked a trace of fear in her heart. If she were to fall, would she make it out alive?
Compared to Coalmarsh, where Natalie had taken her to, these mountains were even more breathtaking.
"Zachary, I feel like there's nothing left to regret in life," Sophia said, holding Zachary's hand, her eyes full of happiness.

"Next, I'll take you to see the snow."
