The House Wife Had Secret Identities (Niamh Rivers and Jonathan) novel Chapter 184

Ask them to lend her three billion dollars?

Three billion

Those two could easily cough up that kind of money, but whether they’d actually lend it to herNiamh had no idea. And even if they did, she knew there’d be no shortage of snide remarks and cutting sarcasm.

On one side was the divorce from Jonathan; on the other, having to beg the two people she’d sworn she’d never ask for anything in her life.

Niamh was caught between a rock and a hard place, running her hands anxiously through her hair.

After leaving The Thomas Group, she called Flynn. He didn’t pick up at firstprobably busy with a case.

It wasn’t until dusk that Flynn finally called her back.

The city lights of Aldenville blinked on, neon and temptation everywhere, nightlife humming as the evening deepened.

Niamh found herself standing outside Room 9108 at the Violet Majestic Hotel.

This was where Flynn had told her to meet him.

She clutched the divorce papers Jonathan had handed her, pressed tightly to her

chest.

Before she could even knock, the door swung open from inside.

It was Flynn who’d opened it.

Come in.

Flynn was wearing a white hotel bathrobe, hair still damp, looking every bit like he’d just stepped out of the shower.

Niamh hesitated on the threshold. Her instincts screamed at her that Flynn had something less than honorable in mind.

Flynn leaned against the doorframe, one arm propped up, and grinned when he saw her frozen in place. You’re the one asking me for a favor, not the other way around. If you don’t come in, I’m closing the door.

Just before he could shut it, Niamh caught the edge with her hand and slipped

inside.

Flynn gave her a slow onceover, head to toe. Didn’t I tell you to wear something a bit morefun? Why are you still in your work clothes? It’s after hours.”

He had, in fact, said that over the phone. Which was exactly why she’d made a point of not changingespecially since this meeting was happening in a hotel room.

Forget it,Flynn waved dismissively, taking the divorce agreement from her arms and scanning through it.

The Thomas family’s legal team is no joke,” he commented.

He already knew nowNiamh’s soontobe ex was Jonathan. Not that it surprised him. Last time they’d had dinner, Jonathan had come over to introduce himselfthat had said it all.

Hmmthis won’t be easy. You’ll get the divorce, but it’s going to cost you. Their offer is brutal.Flynn handed the papers back to her.

But if you hire me, there’s no way you’ll have to pay a threebilliondollar settlement. That number’s insane.

So you mean

Niamh’s whole face lit up, hope flickering in her eyes. Flynn just laughed and raised a hand. Don’t get too excited. I haven’t agreed to take your case yet. You know how busy I amand let’s be honest, I appreciate a little pleasure in life. If you want to jump the line, you’ll have to sleep with me. That’s my offer. One night, and I’ll take your case. No legal fees. That’s the best deal you’ll get from me.

Niamh wasn’t angry, nor was she surprised. If anything, she found Flynn’s blunt honesty easier to navigate.

I can’t sleep with you. Name another pricemoney, for example. I can pay more.Flynn shook his head. I’m not hurting for money. I just want you.

He stepped closer but didn’t touch her, only adjusted his robe a little, making his intentions perfectly clear.

Niamh realized he was trying to seduce her.

I think I look pretty good,Flynn said, flashing a roguish grin. Okay, maybe I’m not quite on Jonathan’s level, but since you’re divorcing him, I’m guessing he’s not all that in some departments. Sowhy not give me a shot?
