The Luna of Rain novel Chapter 5

I could have sworn I smelled my mate earlier but after reaching the spot the scent was coming from, it disappeared. I wondered if my nose was playing tricks on me but how do you make up a scent so breathtaking in your head?

Running into Ray in the same spot I could have sworn the scent was coming from was a pleasant surprise although it just raised more questions in my head. Was it her giving off that intoxicating scent? But standing here in front of her, I couldn’t smell anything except the rain lightly coming down around us and the earthy scent of the forest.

“Storm, could she be hiding her wolf?”

Storm grunted in frustration. “Impossible.”

The idea that I made the scent up in my head was becoming more likely.

Now that it was just Ray and me in the forest alone, I was able to take her in without anyone else around. She was stunning, even soaked with water from the rain. Her midnight black hair was stuck to parts of her face and neck while her crystal blue eyes were sparkling under the moonlight. She looked like a real life Goddess. A soaked one - but a Goddess nonetheless.

She still wore her black dress she was wearing earlier in the dining room and the wet state of it did nothing to hide her curves from me. She had perky full breasts, a slim waist, wide hips, and long legs. She was a dream come true.

I took a few steps towards her wanting to see her face closer up and I was not disappointed. She was by far the most breathtaking woman I had ever seen. I was blown away.

“Since I told you why I’m out here, it's your turn.”

I knew she wasn’t out here causing trouble but I was also curious as to why a young girl who had no wolf was out here in the middle of the deep forest by herself.

She shrugged nonchalantly. “Training.”

If she was lying, she was very good at hiding it.

“Training?” I questioned. “I wasn’t aware that omegas were allowed to train in this pack.”

A sad look crossed her face and I immediately felt guilty for just calling her an omega. I knew that’s what she was but I’m sure it was upsetting for her to not have gotten a wolf.

“They aren’t but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be able to defend myself. I wasn’t kidding when I said that I can take care of myself.”

The look of sadness that was on her face was replaced with a look of defiance and determination. She was nothing like the meek young omega I saw in the dining room earlier. The girl standing before me now was radiating strength and confidence and damn was it a turn on.

I stretched my arms over my head and turned my head side to side to crack it.

“Alright. Let’s see what you got.”

If I thought she was going to look scared and second guess her words, I was wrong. If anything, she smiled like this is what she’d been waiting for all night and couldn’t wait to put me in my place.

She had no idea who she was messing with.

Not only was I a strong Alpha, but I was Head Alpha and you don’t earn that title by being weak.

She stretched her arms in front of her and nodded. I thought she’d go into a fighting stance but instead she just stood there expectantly, waiting for me to make the first move.

I planned on taking it easy on her considering she was pretty much human but a part of me wanted to see what she was made of. I moved in front of her in a flash and aimed a punch at her right shoulder, light enough to not hurt her but fast enough for her not to see it coming.

What I wasn’t expecting was her side stepping out of the way before my fist could even come close to touching her.

“Is that the best you got, Alpha?” she taunted, a mischievous smile on those full lips and a glint in her icy eyes. Fine. If she wanted to play like this then sure, let's play.

I turned around and aimed to grab her shoulders but once again, she moved out of the way in the blink of an eye. Honestly, I wasn’t even coming close to touching her. If I thought I was fast, she was like lightning.

I started throwing punch after punch at her but every single time, she deflected it. I couldn’t land a single hit on her. While I was growing frustrated, she seemed completely at ease. Pretty soon I became a blur of fists and kicks but no matter how hard I tried or how fast I moved, I couldn’t touch her. She was like a ghost, disappearing and reappearing.

After what felt like forever, I managed to snake my hand out and grab her by the throat. Not enough to cut off her airways but enough to show her who the alpha was. What I wasn’t expecting were the tingles that ran from my hand and up my arm. They were mesmerizing and I couldn’t stop myself from gasping.

Looking into her eyes, the forest and everything around us just disappeared like it did in the dining room. I noticed her crystal blue orbs were wide like she was shocked by the same tingles. This is the second time I’ve been completely captivated by her. I knew I shouldn’t let this keep happening but it was like I had no control over myself when she was near.

Soon, I began to smell her arousal and I heard Storm growl in my head so strong that I began to growl out loud. I could feel my eyes flash bright silver as Storm tried to make his way present with me. He was overcome with the sweet scent that had a direct line to my cock, making it twitch and come alive.

Before I could move toward her lips, having zero control over my body anymore, she quickly brought her arms down and forcefully escaped from my grasp. If I was in the right mind, there’s no way she could have gotten out of my hold but since I was so distracted by the look and smell of her, she caught me off guard.
