I sat there in silence for what felt like forever.

In her drunken haze, Emma suddenly blurted out,” You know what? It’s not just your style that changed. I miss the old you.”

Her words hit me hard.

“The old me?” I echoed, feeling a pang of confusion.

She gave me a light shake.

“Liz,seriously. Think about it. Is there anything you do anymore that’s just for you?”

I opened my mouth, ready to argue, but no words came.

After a moment, I tried to defend myself.

“But haven’t I always been the one chasing after Leo? That’s just how it’s always been, right?”

“Bullshit!” Emma laughed, her words slurring as she swore.

“If I had known back then how things would turn out, I never would’ve encouraged you to chase after Leo!”
