Chapter 24
We finally made it outside to Leo’s car, and with a quick tug, I slipped free from his tight grip.
Behind me, Rolin was carefully helping a stumbling Emma towards the car.
I quickly took hold of her, guiding her into the backseat as she mumbled incoherently.
Without thinking, I slid in beside her.
“So now, you stay out late, cozy up to other men, and you can’t even sit up front with me anymore?”
Leo’s voice was icy, slicing through the stillness of the night like a razor–sharp blade.
Rolin stood off to the side, an awkward laugh escaping from him as he handed me Emma’s bag, clearly unsure of what to do.
Without waiting for a response, he yanked the front door open, dragged me from the back, and shoved me into the passenger seat.
He buckled my seatbelt, the gesture unsettling in its intimacy, but something else caught my eyes- the lipstick tube sitting in the cupholder.
That wasn’t my lipstick.
I’d recognized that shade anywhere–It was Aria’s favorite.
