The Orphaned Queen (By Brandi Ray) novel Chapter 24

The Castle Tour

After the doctor leaves, Zion helps me walk over to the walk-in closet. He asks what I would like to wear for our tour around the castle. I’m not really sure, so I shrug my shoulders, and he gives me a questioning look.

“I never really had clothes to pick from, and Jess says I don’t have a taste for fashion, so I usually just wear whatever she gives me,” I say. “Plus, I don’t know whose clothes these are.”

0

“These are yours. I had the head maid pick some clothes out for you. Are they not your style?” He asks. “I can send someone to pick up something different if you don’t like these.”

0

“No, no, these are fine. I didn’t think these were mine, that’s all. I never had much of anything at the orphanage. Jess would always share her clothes with me, but since I was always cleaning, I wouldn’t wear them because I didn’t want to mess them up.” I explain.

0

“Well, now you are the mate of the King and the future Queen of the Southern Kingdom. You will not be cleaning. And you will always have anything you could ever want or need.” He says with a smile to die for.

After a minute or two, I realized I’d been staring at his lips for too long, and I blushed in embarrassment. He lets out a soft laugh before grabbing me by the waist, pulling me closer to his perfect body. He leans down and kisses me softly on the lips. I wrap my arms around his neck and lean into the kiss as he runs his tongue between my lips to gain entrance, deepening the kiss as our tongues dance. Suddenly, there’s a knock at the door. We pull away from each other, putting distance between us as he says to come in, and Jess and Orian walk in.

0

“Maybe Jessica can help you pick out something to wear today.” He whispers in my ear, making me laugh.

0

“Hey Jess, can you help me find something to wear?” I ask, and she runs to my closet as the guys sit on the couch talking.

0

I sit on the bed with Odett while Jess looks through my closet, pulling out clothes and talking to herself. Every minute or two, she walks out of the closet, holding up an outfit for my approval. She finally decides on a yellow sundress with thin straps and comes right above my knees and a pair of gladiator sandals.

0

A few minutes later, I’m dressed in the sun dress and sandals, and my long curly red hair is pulled up in a high ponytail. Thankfully Jess didn’t think I needed any makeup, so she added a little lip gloss, and I was ready to go.

0

“You look stunning, my love,” Zion says, and I can’t help but blush.

0

“Thank you, Zion,” I say back. “I just need to get Odett dressed, and we can go.”

We then make our way back inside threw the banquet hall’s double doors and up the stairs, where Orian explains that the first floor is where the servants that don’t live in town have rooms. The second floor is for low-ranking worriers and pack members that would rather live in the castle than in town. The third floor is for high-ranked worriers and higher-ranked pack members that chose not to live in town, as well as high-ranked guests that are here from other packs for parties or meetings. And finally, the fourth floor is for the King, Beta, Gamma, and Enforcer, as well as their families. Plus, a few extra guest rooms as well. All three of them have two-bedroom suites, while the Kings suite has four.

“This castle is massive,” I say, and Odett agrees while Jess giggles at our disbelief.

0

“Why don’t ya’ll go relax for a bit with Odett?” Zion says to Orian as he hands Odett over to Jess. “We’ll meet ya’ll a little later to show them the grounds.”

0

“Yes, my King,” Orian says as they bow and make their way back down the hall.

0

“I wanted to discuss some things with you, and I thought it would be best to do it in privet.” He says, and I suddenly get nervous. “Let’s go to my office.”
