The Orphaned Queen (By Brandi Ray) novel Chapter 46

It’s Time

Zions’ P.O.V.

While Sam is gone to get the ingredients for Lady Ezmereldas counter spell, Lady Ezmerelda, Oriand, James, and I discuss the situation, and she explains how the spell works. It’s basically a curse because unless the witch that cast the spell decides to remove it, you would feel everything with a true mate bond unless you reject or are rejected by the other person. And even then, you would feel the bond severe and the pain of the rejection.

“So that means that this so-called Luna is working with Douglas?” I finally ask her.

0

“Most likely. And possibly even Alpha Max, his Luna, and Alpha Ian.” She says. “We shouldn’t rule any of them out.”

“On the plus side, the Super Natural Council will all be here for our mating ceremony tonight. I will call a short meeting with them to quickly fill them in before the run of the wolves at midnight.” I say and look at Orian.

0

“I’ll make sure everyone knows, my King.” He says, and I thank him through the link.

0

“Do you think we should tell Rain about this and the impromptu meeting?” I ask her mother.

0

“Yes, but let her enjoy the ceremony first.” She says, and we all agree.

We continue to talk for about ten minutes before Sam returns with everything Lady Ezmerelda wrote down on the list for the counterspell. I tell her she can use my office, and I will leave Sam with her if she needs help or needs to contact me for any reason. I then head to the room I will be using to get ready for the ceremony since Rain requests that I did not see her in her dress until the ceremony when she walks down the aisle.

When Orian and I get to the room, I sit on the couch while he walks over to the mini-bar, pours us both a glass of Jack, and then sits in the chair beside me and hands me the glass. We share a look and laugh as we take a sip from our glass’.

“I never thought you would be having your mating ceremony first,” Orian says with a light laugh, and I honestly agree with him.

After I’m done, I walk into the room, sitting on the couch opposite James and Sam with my glass in my hand. We then laugh and joke around for a bit before it’s time for us to get dressed. I put on my black slacks and the silk blue button-up shirt, and gold cuff links before I put on my black suit jacket and my black combat boots. The hairstylist comes in, doing my hair in a Viking braid, and wraps the end in a bun at the back of my head. And we’re ready to finish greeting guests and wait for my Queen to arrive so we can start the ceremony. We walk down the stairs and out the double doors to where the ceremony will be held, and everyone cheers when they see me.

After ten minutes of greeting everyone and shaking hands, the Head Elder asks me if we’re ready to get everyone to their seats so that we can get started. I nod and send Sam to escort Rain and the ladies down to the double doors of the banquet hall while Orian and James start to get everyone to their seats. I make my way to the bottom of the steps that lead to the stage and wait for my Queen. A few minutes later, Sam walks out and joins Orian, James, and the Head Elder at the top of the stage, and the music starts playing. I turn to face the castle’s double doors as everyone stands up and looks down the aisle for the first look at their new Queen.

Lady Ezmerelda and Jessica are the first ones out as they walk down the aisle and up the stairs to the stage, followed by Little Odett as she tosses blue and black flower petals everywhere with an adorable smile of pure innocence and joy on her face, making almost everyone smile, as she makes her way up the stairs to stand by Jessica. And suddenly, I’m hit with the most amazing scent ever as Rain appears at the door, covered by a robe. Ryker howles in my head, telling me he’s just as excited as I am to have her by my side.

0

“It’s finally time for everyone to see our perfect mate!” Ryker says, and I smile as I agree with him.

0

“She’s going to take this world by storm,” I tell him.
