Jill lit up instantly and beamed at Cameron. “You’re seriously the most reliable.”

Cameron’s face froze for a second, but he kept peeling shrimp for her without saying a word.
After the meal, Samson wiped his mouth and immediately pulled out his phone, itching to drag Sloane into a game.
Lucas leaned in slightly, his voice low and gentle. “There’s a bowling alley behind this restaurant. Want to check it out?”
Sloane looked up at him and smiled. “Sure. But I don’t know how to bowl.”
“No problem. I’ll teach you,” Lucas said with a laugh.
Hearing that, Samson tossed his phone aside and leaned in. “Bowling? Count me in! I’m a pro. You’ve got to see me in action today.”
Jill’s eyes twinkled mischievously. She didn’t hesitate to call him out. “Uncle Samson, oh please. I remember you taking me to the arcade when I was little–out of ten throws, eight missed the hoop. You, a pro? Don’t tell me you’re planning to treat us to a live performance of ‘Nine Gutters Out of Ten‘!”
Samson knocked her lightly on the head. “You little rascal. That was ages ago! Your Uncle Samson is a different man now. I’ll show you what real skill looks like.”
With that, the group laughed and joked their way toward the bowling alley.
They had just arrived when voices drifted over from inside.
“Wow, you’re amazing!”
Jill immediately got goosebumps. “Who the hell is that? That voice is so sugary it could melt glass.” She craned her neck toward the source of the voice.
Inside the bowling alley, Adrian was expertly rolling a bowling ball that struck down all the pins. Summer hovered beside him like a butterfly. “Strike! You’re the best bowler I’ve ever seen!”
Jill curled her lip in disgust. “Tch. It’s just one strike. What’s the big deal? You’d think he just won a world championship.”
Hearing voices, Summer and the others turned their heads. The moment their eyes landed on Lucas standing beside Sloane, all three of their expressions shifted.

Chapter 70 A Narrow Freape
The smile on Samantha’s face vanished instantly, replaced by open jealousy.

“So you were meeting Mr. Hawthorne,” she said, forcing a smile. “Why didn’t you say so earlier? Then we wouldn’t have had that little misunderstanding back there. The implication was clear: Sloane deliberately kept Lucas’s presence a secret, leading to Summer’s earlier outburst.
As expected, Summer shot Sloane a vicious glare. Clearly, she was already scheming how to turn the tables next time.
Sloane had long since figured out that Samantha was a master at stirring up trouble, but she was surprised at just how stupid Summer was.
She gave Samantha a half–smile. “So what you’re saying is, Lucas should report his whereabouts to you from now on so you can plan ahead?”
Lucas’s lips parted, his tone icy as frost. “I wasn’t aware the Rivers family had any right to monitor my movements.”
