The moment Julian sighted her,a rush of old memories flooded back in his head.

Now he was sure it was her

He had seen her in the elevator a few days ago, he wasn’t sure then now he is….

He walked past her, his shoulder brushing close enough to make her flinch, but he didn’t stop. His mind was already racing ahead to his mother’s office….how could his mother go through with this.

He doesn’t understand what she’s doing anymore…

They had finally found some peace here in Singapore, away from their father’s cruelty, away from the drugs that had nearly destroyed him.

Rehab had been hard, but it had saved him. Alex saved him, he saved them.

They were doing okay, recovering from their past. Alex was smiling a little these days.

If Mia’s presence shattered that fragile balance in Alex’s life, Julian wasn’t sure he would forgive her….or himself for not making his mother stop this

He pushed open the door to his mother’s office. She looked up, her eyes sharp, reading his face in an instant.

Julian closed the door behind him, leaning against it for moment/

“You still employed her,” Julian said, his voice low, edged with disbelief and accusation.

He crossed the room, picking up her scarf from the chair and folding it neatly, helping her pack her bag

It was their little routine, a quiet way to connect after everything they had been through…

as he always did when he stopped by.

His mom already knew who he was talking about. She paused, meeting his gaze with that steady calmness that screams I know what I’m doing….

“I did,” she said simply, her tone firm but soft, like she was bracing for the argument she knew was coming. “She was the best candidate for the job”

Julian sighs, deeper this time, the sound heavy with worry.

He zipped her bag closed, his fingers lingering on the strap. Memories flash through his mind…..Alex’s face the day after Mia vanished, the betrayal carved in his eyes. The way he had locked everyone out for months.

His brother hasn’t dated anymore since they left Willowcrest, he subtly sleeps around. Alex doesn’t care about relationships or even wants to be in one ever. He’s not sure his brother can ever love again.

All because of one girl. That family has to have been a curse to them.

Chapter 202

Her brother Ethan had gatten him hooked on drugs that destroyed his life in Willowcrest. He never blamed him for it though it RET wanted it, he asked for it, he paid for it

As if that wasn’t enough of a damage the turners could do to them.

Then Ethan’s sister shattered his brother’s heart, that’s when he took it personal.

He had nothing against the turners before, but now he does.

It’s as if they were just sent to destroy them, and now that girl is here? Madness

“Where is your brother?” his mom asked, breaking the silence, her voice gentle as she slung her bag over her shoulder.

“Still in his office, I guess,” Julian replied, then he paused, staring at her, his heart tightening. “Mom, if Alex finds out that girl is working here…”

Honestly he doesn’t know how Alex will react. His brother hardly reacts to anything these days.

His mom stopped and stared at him, her eyes searching his face.

She set her bag down again, leaning against her desk.

Julian could see the conflict there, the way she had gambled by hiring Mia, keeping her close like a secret she wasn’t sure how to handle.

“What are you not telling me mom?” Jullian asked.

“I think there’s more to why she left Willowcrest. I think she didn’t just leave”

“Mom firstly, you had told me this girl didn’t know Alex owns this company, but the way she reacted when she saw me-

She knows now?”

“What?”

“Look just keep this away from your brother until Ldo all my findings”

“Findings about what?…Mom there’s no mystery about anything, she played Alex and left”

His mom hums. “How about you let me do my findings while you

Jullian stares at his mom. It was clear he can’t change her mind to send that girl away.

He will have to hide this from his brother? Well if he is going to join his mother in this ridiculous game she is playing. He wants to know more.

“Only on one condition mom” Jullian says.

“What is it?”

“That you tell me everything”

His mother sighs but she gives in

“About what?”

“Why do you think there’s more to why she left

“I think your brother might have a son?” she said, her voice dropping to a whisper.
