“Jessica, let me take you to the hospital to get checked out,” Brian said gently. Even though Jessica seemed fine now, he couldn’t relax until a doctor had examined her properly.

‘Why would she suddenly start having morning sickness now?‘ Brian wondered.

“No need. The baby’s over five months along, so morning sickness is normal,” Jessica refused without hesitation. She felt perfectly healthy and didn’t need to go to the hospital. Today’s episode was just from being upset. She simply hadn’t been able to control it.

Brian frowned, about to say something more, but Jessica cut him off, “I’m tired. Are you taking me home or not? If not, I’ll just call a cab.”

She pulled out her phone and started to call for a ride. After throwing up, she was too exhausted to walk all the way down to the parking garage to get her own car.

“Let’s go. I’ll drive you home,” Brian said immediately. He looked at Jessica’s tired face and asked tentatively, “Jessica, can I carry you to the car?”

Jessica looked down and didn’t respond. Brian took her silence as agreement and scooped her up, carrying her to his car. She fell into a deep sleep shortly after they started driving.

Brian quickly found a place to pull over and parked the car. He grabbed the small blanket he kept in the car and covered her with it, then sent Wesley a message explaining what had happened today.

Since Wesley hadn’t seen Jessica in person, he couldn’t tell whether her sudden morning sickness was physical or psychological. In the end, he could only advise Brian to keep a close eye on her.

After his failed attempt to get outside help, Brian had no choice but to research morning sickness remedies on his own. He started coming up with creative ways to make Jessica delicious meals, hoping to ease her suffering.

Of course, he didn’t forget about his daily habit of marking things off his calendar.

After Jessica finished her consultation with Wesley, he called Brian again to remind him that he could start the second

phase of the plan.

Brian was just about to drive over and pick up Jessica when he hesitated at Wesley’s words. “Do I really have to do that? Jessica seems so much better now. What if I mess up and make her upset?”

Jessica had been dealing with morning sickness lately, which was already making her miserable enough. Brian really

didn’t want to make things worse with his own actions.

“It’s only temporary. I’m not asking you to keep doing it forever,” Wesley said, clearly frustrated. This was exactly why he always said people shouldn’t let love cloud their judgment.

Brian went quiet for a few seconds before responding. “Let me think about it some more. Thanks for the reminder.”

“Fine, but don’t take too long. I need to know the results so I can plan the next steps in her treatment,” Wesley warned him again.

“Got it, I understand.” Brian’s attention drifted as he spotted a snack shop on the side of the road.

Wesley could tell he wasn’t really listening anymore, so he gave him one final reminder before hanging up.

The moment the call ended, Brian pocketed his phone and headed straight into the store to buy some dried fruit,

As luck would have it, the shop owner had invited an influencer to do a live stream for promotion that day. The moment Brian appeared on camera, viewers in the livestream immediately recognized him and sent him trending on social media

once again.

Madeline saw the video showing which shop Brian had visited and rushed over without a second thought. She bought exactly the same items from Brian’s published shopping list and took a photo to send to Jessica.

Back at the apartment, Jessica had just unwrapped the latest dried fruit snacks Brian had brought her when she received Madeline’s taunting message. Her stomach immediately churned, and she bent over and threw up.

Jacob, who was drawing nearby, jumped up in alarm and shouted toward the kitchen where Brian was busy working. “Dad, come quick! Mom threw up.”
