Chapter 579
For a brief moment, they both forgot the cameras were still rolling.
Viewers flooded the chat.
[Oh great, here we go again.]
[Another dose of couple content… single people are suffering.]
[Honestly? Adorable. I’ll take more, please.]
[Real couples just hit different. So much better than the fake ones.]
[They’re genuinely sweet.]

Raymond scanned the dense wave of comments streaming across the screen, a satisfied smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. He had known giving the spotlight to Brian and Jessica would be the right move.
Unsurprisingly, Brian and Jessica took first place once the event concluded.
Peyton personally handed them the travel stipend prepared by the production team. “Mr. Atkinson, here’s your travel fund.”
Brian took it with one hand and passed it to Jessica without hesitation. “Honey, you keep it.”
Peyton’s gaze dimmed slightly as she watched Brian, who hadn’t spared her so much as a glance.
Soon after, the other three couples received their respective travel funds. Vanessa and Spencer had, predictably, come in last.
That afternoon, with no scheduled activities, the other three pairs headed out to explore nearby attractions with their winnings.
Vanessa and Spencer, however, remained behind to address the growing controversy online.
Their agents called in quick succession, providing updates on the latest developments.
“There’s a lot of heat on you right now. Most people think the whole thing was a stunt. The related hashtags are trending. Do you want us to contact the platform to suppress them?”
Both declined without hesitation.
“What’s the point?” Vanessa said, staring at her reflection in the mirror, lips pressed tight. “It’s not easy getting this kind of buzz. Even bad press is still press. Right now, I just need the traffic.”

Her face no longer had the youth it once did, but that didn’t matter to her. As long as she could make a comeback, the criticism was worth it.
Spencer was even more calculated. “Buy more trending slots. Keep the tags visible. And hire a team to build me up as the heartbroken fool who stayed loyal, even after being cheated on.”
He had no qualms about exploiting her image for sympathy.
After all, he wasn’t the one catching most of the flak.
His agent agreed without hesitation and got to work.
Vanessa hung up and turned to Spencer, who had just returned. Her tone was flat. “We’re getting decent traction online. What do you say, keep the partnership going?”
“Of course. Controversy drives traffic. That’s what we signed up for, isn’t it?” Spencer replied easily. He still planned to milk the situation for all it was worth and had no intention of ending the act just yet.
“Good,” Vanessa said, her expression hardening. “But I don’t want a repeat of today.”
