Chapter 18: Father’s Eyes

Chapter Eighteen

Sixteen men. She counted.

She approached him quickly, to avoid her man getting shot, and Aluminum, the boss smiled at how smart she moved. They had a history. The old ugly rag wanted to marry her since she was sixteen.

"Asli, darling. Still playing hard to get?" The old man's tone irked her but she pulled a chair to sit beside him.

"Aluminum, you're not welcome here." She simply informed him for the eighth time in the week.

She understood some Mafias loved to be called weird names but was 'Aluminum' a good idea?

He snickered. "Oh, I think I am. You see, I've got a buyer willing to pay top dollar."

Her hand rested on the gun holstered at her hip. She removed it and placed it on the table before them. "I've said no each time you brought it up. That's final."

Aluminum's men closed in, hands reaching for weapons but stopped immediately when they saw she had placed her gun on the table for everyone to see.

Her men stepped forward, their eyes locked on their enemies. "You shouldn't have flown all the way here to say the same thing. Your father doesn't care whether I buy it or not. So why don't you hand over the papers while I'm being generous?"

A knife flashed in the older man's hand. It happened so fast nobody knew where Asli drew out the knife from. His scream alerted his men and their gunshots started flying while her men did the same.

He would be a fool to think she only came there to tell him no. She must've taken him by surprise. Putting your weapon for the enemy to see meant one thing. She had meant for a peaceful talk until he mentioned her adoptive father.

If she allowed the man sitting before him to win this fight, she must've also said yes to his marriage proposal.

The room erupted into chaos. Gunfire cracked, and everyone screamed as they scrambled for cover.

She dove behind the bar, returning fire as his men started firing her way. Her man disarmed one thug, slamming him into the floor.

Aluminum carefully took the knife piercing through his hand and the table, spilling more blood. The knife found its mark, as he hissed in pain.

She would protect her men at all costs. She entered with three men and she intended to leave with them. Wounding them was allowed but killing was not. She was on high alert as they were too.

"Tell your men to put their guns down," he roared in pain, even though she still held a gun towards his way.

"You don't tell an enemy what to do in a fight," she replied. Then, before she could say anything more, she noticed the nod he gave his men.

Before any of them could react to his command, she shot the remaining men he had left.

To think she was going to lose her life tonight. This was the easiest fight she had ever had in what? Five years after her fight with some group that went about calling themselves Orange Gurus. She sighed, lowering her gun.

"You have your father's eyes." The man told her and she raised her eyebrows in disbelief.

"I look nothing like my father. We are both ruthless killers and so what? "

"You think?"
