Qin Ye parked the car, then helped serve dumplings and brought them to the dining table in the hall.
The family gathered around, leaving nothing but the sound of eating.
Unless something major came up, they rarely talked during meals, always waiting until they were finished. It was only after they had finished eating that Rong Wenming called out to Qin Ye.
"Qin, tell me about your work today. Did you repair any tractors?"
This question seemed a bit uncertain since tractors couldn’t possibly break down every day.
So sometimes the job of technician was pretty leisurely, only being assigned other tasks during busy farming periods.
Qin Ye then shared about his day’s work at the agricultural machinery station.
"Today I only repaired one tractor that was brought back from another village yesterday. However, it was a minor problem, and I could handle it."
Rong Wenming, hearing that his son-in-law could handle it, felt quite pleased inside. He knew this son-in-law of his was quite clever.
"Well, let’s take some time now to go over some other potential problems."
Qin Ye, hearing that his father-in-law wanted to teach him, of course, wouldn’t decline and simply nodded.
"Alright, Dad."
"You wait here. I’ll go get the notes and books," said Rong Wenming as he got up to fetch the items.
Madam Rong went to clean up the dishes, and the twins, perceptive as ever, went to help...
Only Qin Ye and Rong Yan were left sitting.
The couple exchanged looks, and Rong Yan gave him a thumbs up: "Seems like you’re doing a good job at work."
Qin Ye’s eyes sparkled at his wife’s praise, and his ears flushed with warmth.
"Today were mainly small issues, I could handle them. If it were major problems, probably not."
"Then you should study hard and learn from my dad," Rong Yan suggested, then remembered something from the day, "Oh right, Qin Shouwang came to our house today, with his wife and son. Do you know what he was here for?"
Qin Ye’s face fell at the mention, and his expression immediately darkened.
"They came to learn how to repair tractors from Dad?"
Was this what his wife had guessed last night?
Rong Yan nodded, "They shamelessly came asking if Qin Liangyu could learn tractor repair from my dad, but I rejected them. They looked pretty upset when they left."
Qin Ye immediately said, "Don’t worry about them."
Seeing that Rong Yan had no intention of hiding her plans, she shared her thoughts with him.
"I don’t want him to be the team leader of this village anymore. I want to get rid of him and replace him with someone else. What do you think?"
Qin Ye didn’t expect his wife to think like this, but of course, he agreed.
"I’ll handle this..."
Rong Yan was about to mention what she had learned during most of the day... enough to strip Qin Shouwang of his team leader status, but she raised an eyebrow curiously upon hearing Qin Ye’s words.
"You’ll do it? What’s your plan?"
If he had a plan, why wait until now?
After all, he had suffered a lot in this village before, yet he never seemed to resist.
Qin Ye, seemingly guessing what was on her mind, said:
"I know some secrets about Qin Shouwang. There was no need before; whoever was the team leader made no difference to me."
