Don’t panic. Just keep following,Damian said, his voice deep and cold, carrying an authority that instantly calmed nerves.

Yes, Mr. Crowley.Gordon steadied himself, gently accelerated, and maintained a careful distance behind the target vehicle.

Damian revealed the news of tracking the suspicious vehicle to Violet, who would inform the police and also asked Ethan to come for support.

After they followed it for about 15 minutes, the car drove into at gated community.

Damian’s car couldn’t enter.

Isn’t this Ms. Lawson’s former residence?Gordon asked, surprised.

Damian stared at the black car disappearing into the villa area, his expression darkening with realization. He immediately called Desmond.

Beatrice regained consciousness, the pungent smell of gasoline making her nauseous.

The fuel was everywhere, soaking her clothes, skin, face, and even her hair.

It was clinging to her in a greasy, cold film.

She was propped against what felt like a sofa, her hands and feet bound with duct tape.

Darkness surrounded her.

As her eyes adjusted, the outlines of the environment gradually took shape.

She could make out the room’s layout: the large French windows ahead, the semicircular sofa, two staggered round coffee tables, and the eastfacing doorframe.

All painfully familiar.

This was her living room!

No, to be precise, this was her and Desmond’s home. She had lived here for years and knew every corner intimately.

Who had kidnapped her? Why bring her here?

The unexpected attack came back to her in vivid detail, like a nightmare. She thought she had been careful enough, but

Chapter 70 The Vicious Woman somehow, she’d still fallen into the trap.

She struggled to stand but couldn’t move.

Her fingers refused to respond, and when she tried to call out, she realized her mouth was sealed.

Suddenly, the crisp sound of footsteps approached from outside the living room. A petite figure in dark clothing entered.

Though Beatrice couldn’t make out the face clearly, she knew instantly it was Madeline.

Beatrice froze, ceasing her struggle.

The shadowy figure walked up to her, sat down beside her with an unsettling familiarity, and began playing with a lighter.

I waited three days to catch you,Madeline said, her voice sweet yet chilling.

The highend metal lighter flicked open and closed with rhythmic clicks.

The flame danced at her fingertips, sometimes illuminating her face, sometimes allowing it to sink back into darkness.

That fire was like something from hell itself. One drop onto the floor would instantly ignite the gasoline saturating the room, and Beatrice would be engulfed in flames.

Beatrice stared at the fire, her heart racing while her breathing

slowed.

Are you scared?Madeline saw the fear in Beatrice’s eyes and excitedly waved the flame near her face.

Don’t worry. It only hurts for a moment when you burn. Then you’ll just be charred remains. Desmond will probably vomit when he sees you like that. The last image of you in his mind will be something grotesque and revolting.

The thought sent Madeline into peals of laughter, her excitement building to a frenzied state.

Beatrice kept her face expressionless, knowing well that any reaction would only feed Madeline’s madness.

After laughing for a while, Madeline suddenly fell silent.

She reached out, ripped the tape from Beatrice’s mouth, and pinched her face hard. How about this? Bark like a dog, say you’re a bitch, and beg me nicely. Then maybe I’ll consider letting you go.

Beatrice stared back coldly, saying nothing.

She wouldn’t beg for mercy or show weakness.

She knew perfectly well that Madeline would never let her go.

Beatrice feared death, but if she was doomed anyway, she refused to become a source of entertainment for Madeline.

Seeing her defiance, Madeline slapped her hard across the face.

You won’t beg? Fine. Then I’ll have someone rape you, chop off your limbs, and finally burn down this house with you in it!

Beatrice’s cheek stung, but she kept quiet.

Madeline grabbed her hair and yanked her forward. Her face was contorted like a demon’s.

I’m giving you a chance. Don’t you see? A chance to live! You should be grateful. Barking like a dog won’t kill you. But refusing will ensure you die a horrible death. Won’t you think twice?

Beatrice raised her gaze, finally speaking, Murder is against the law. If you kill me, they’ll execute you, too. Is it worth it?

Madeline was momentarily stunned. She seemed infuriated that instead of hearing pathetic pleas, she was being challenged.

Despite her situation, Beatrice remained composed and dignified.

Rage flashed through Madeline. She slapped Beatrice again and again. Bitch! Slut

The vicious curses echoed through the living room.

Beatrice’s mouth filled with blood. Her face hurt so badly she could no longer feel it.

Yet, she gritted her teeth and endured it, her voice remaining steady. Madeline, if you kill me, Desmond will never be with you. He already feels guilty about me. If I die because of him, he’ll live with that guilt forever and remember me always. Is that what you want?

Madeline roared, Shut up! Who do you think you are? Desmond has hated you for ages! He has no interest in you at all! He wants to be with me all the time.

He invited me on business trips. We’ve had sex in hotels, swimming pools, carseverywhere. He’s passionate about me. He tells me he loves me and says he’s disgusted when he comes home to you! We belong together!

I’m trying to help you,Beatrice said. At the airport, if I hadn’t hit you, would Desmond have been distressed enough to carry you to the hospital?

Madeline paused, momentarily shocked.

Then she sneered through clenched teeth, But he still went back to you afterward! I even released that video and let the public condemn me, making myself miserable, yet he still wanted to reconcile with you out of guilt!

If you hadn’t joined Autumn in attacking me,Beatrice said, if you’d continued playing the victim, Desmond would have kept gravitating toward you. But you were too impatient. Now you. want to burn me to death in his house? Do you want to ensure he never forgets me?
