The Ross family.
Charlene had already discussed auctioning the diamond with Helena Ross before heading out to the auction itself.
When Helena finally saw the dazzling stone Charlene had spent a fortune on, she stared at it in silence for a long time before she spoke. “Your mother always did love diamonds,” Helena said quietly. “But if the diamond really has any effect, it could just as easily bring her clarity as it could push her deeper into… madness. So, Charlene, keep it safe for now. As for using it to help your mother—let’s wait a while and see how things go.”
Charlene had considered that possibility herself.
She agreed with her grandmother’s caution.
Still, a diamond this rare might not come up for auction again anytime soon. And since money wasn’t an issue for her at the moment, she bought it anyway, even if it ended up sitting unused for now.
She nodded at her grandmother’s words. “Alright.”
Charlene hadn’t gone to visit Irma at the hospital for the past couple of days.
The next morning, she went again.
She arrived pretty early, but when she got to the hospital, Thorne and Moran were already there. The housekeeper, however, was nowhere in sight.
When she knocked and entered, both Thorne and Moran looked up at her.
Charlene gave Thorne a brief nod in greeting, then walked straight past them into Irma’s room.
Moran glared, clearly annoyed at being ignored. She turned to Thorne and muttered, “She really doesn’t care about anyone these days, does she?”
Thorne sat down and replied with an indifferent, “Mm. And?”
Moran fell silent, at a loss for words.
Thorne didn’t look up from his laptop, just gave a noncommittal, “Is that so?”
Usually, when couples split, things get ugly fast.
This was… unusual.
But Moran didn’t say that out loud. Instead, something else occurred to him, and he said, “Whatever happens, you and Charlene have Minnie between you. She made mistakes back then, sure, but the past is the past. If she’s managed to let it go, and you’re willing to do the same for Minnie’s sake, then maybe there really isn’t any unfixable grudge between you two. For Minnie, maybe you could actually get along in the future…”
Thorne said nothing.
Moran studied him, unsure what he was thinking.
But since Thorne didn’t respond, Moran knew better than to push. He fell silent, leaving the rest unsaid.

Gosh, this is excruciating ! The slow pace made me leave this for over 3 months. Was just taking a peek and not much development. Btw they have now made this into a 3hr 40 min long drama.Available on daily motion under, the name, next chapter without you. But all the other fringe characters such as York Granger Gaylord are missing in the movie. Ending is very satisfying, practical and apt. She chooses to leave thorne and jasmine and be with Stewart. Vesta and family are inter national wanted Criminals. Not sure if they replicate the same on here. As this book is now on the app for more than 9 months, have a feeling it'll be another 6 to 9 months before this is completed!...
Stewart and Charlene will the best match, both power players!...
Can't wait to read where Charlene will start another relationship... God for is she gets back with Thorne... She needs to be with York or Gaylord (to annoy vesta) or granger (to annoy Thorne)...
I know its ur story and u obviously have ur own plot line and all and have every right to build the story as u like but what writer provide isnt just entertainment, but they shape the narrative of young minds. So I would say that romanticing cheating is, or rather THORNE'S behaviour, wrong for all the reasons..give york a chance ..that will be way more satisfying...again all of this is just my point of view but if charlene and thorne get back together, its not the story im looking for...
Hey...please dont ever make Charlene and thorne get back together no matter what...he simply doesn't deserve it....no matter the reason or plot twist behind the way he treated his legally wedded wife....whether he actually slept with vesta or not....just his emotional cheating...not repecting his spouse....not caring enough to actually get to know the person his wife was....and actually distancing his child from her mother and encouraging her to bond with the mistress are all the biggest RED FLAGS... when a person enters a contract....he must uphold it no questions asked...its not like if ur partner isnt good enough, ur allowed to cheat..allowed to let a 3rd person in-between....if ur not satisfied with ur partner then u can get a divorce...whats the point of all the wealth, power and brilliance of mind when the ML cant even get his head around this simple fact...So, its fine it he regrets, but charlene shouldn't be with him in any case.....
Enough already. This novel is dragging slowly. Updated with 2 chapters only. REALLY!!! Whoever the author or authors of this novel why is there a delay in penning more chapters? Here’s my question.
