"Let's hit the road."
Their car swiftly departed the manor, making its way toward the airport.
Charlene was oblivious to Thorne's return to their homeland. No one had informed her.
Half a month had elapsed since she had moved out of the manor. During this time, she gradually grew accustomed to and fond of the peaceful and leisurely life of living alone.
It was a lazy Saturday morning when she finally woke up. After getting up and freshening up, she drew the curtains to find the sunlight beaming outside.
She stretched lazily, watered her plants, and was just about to whip up a simple breakfast when the doorbell rang. It was her neighbor from across the hall, Mrs. Sullivan.
"Ms. Ross, hope I didn't wake you?"
Charlene replied softly, "Not at all. I was already up."
"That's good to hear." Mrs. Sullivan said warmly. "I've brought some freshly baked muffins and apple pies from this morning. I thought you might like to try them."
Charlene was happy. "Thanks. That’s incredibly kind of you."
"It's the least I could do after you saved our Sally from that crazy dog the other day. My husband and I have wanted to thank you properly, but we've just been busy at work. I feel terrible about it."
Charlene smiled. "It was nothing, really, Mrs. Sullivan. You're too kind."
After exchanging pleasantries, Mrs. Sullivan left.
Charlene sat down to eat breakfast while exploring the latest algorithm mechanisms of an AI project she had been studying.
In the afternoon, a notification about the centenary celebration of Starlight University popped up on her phone.
Charlene paused, checking the date, and realized it was Starlight University's anniversary.
Stewart was shocked. "I'm sorry to hear that."
"It's okay."
"What are your plans now? Thinking of returning to the company?"
"I've considered it, but..."
Not fully grasping her concerns, Stewart said sincerely, "Charlene, the company needs you. You're a key part of it, and I really hope you can come back to lead us."
Charlene hesitated, "I... I..."
Seeing Stewart's earnest expression, Charlene felt a mix of emotions. It wasn't that she didn't want to. It was just that the field of AI was advancing so rapidly.
Having been out of the industry for six years, she feared she couldn't keep up with the pace of progress, let alone lead the team to the forefront as she had done previously.

Gosh, this is excruciating ! The slow pace made me leave this for over 3 months. Was just taking a peek and not much development. Btw they have now made this into a 3hr 40 min long drama.Available on daily motion under, the name, next chapter without you. But all the other fringe characters such as York Granger Gaylord are missing in the movie. Ending is very satisfying, practical and apt. She chooses to leave thorne and jasmine and be with Stewart. Vesta and family are inter national wanted Criminals. Not sure if they replicate the same on here. As this book is now on the app for more than 9 months, have a feeling it'll be another 6 to 9 months before this is completed!...
Stewart and Charlene will the best match, both power players!...
Can't wait to read where Charlene will start another relationship... God for is she gets back with Thorne... She needs to be with York or Gaylord (to annoy vesta) or granger (to annoy Thorne)...
I know its ur story and u obviously have ur own plot line and all and have every right to build the story as u like but what writer provide isnt just entertainment, but they shape the narrative of young minds. So I would say that romanticing cheating is, or rather THORNE'S behaviour, wrong for all the reasons..give york a chance ..that will be way more satisfying...again all of this is just my point of view but if charlene and thorne get back together, its not the story im looking for...
Hey...please dont ever make Charlene and thorne get back together no matter what...he simply doesn't deserve it....no matter the reason or plot twist behind the way he treated his legally wedded wife....whether he actually slept with vesta or not....just his emotional cheating...not repecting his spouse....not caring enough to actually get to know the person his wife was....and actually distancing his child from her mother and encouraging her to bond with the mistress are all the biggest RED FLAGS... when a person enters a contract....he must uphold it no questions asked...its not like if ur partner isnt good enough, ur allowed to cheat..allowed to let a 3rd person in-between....if ur not satisfied with ur partner then u can get a divorce...whats the point of all the wealth, power and brilliance of mind when the ML cant even get his head around this simple fact...So, its fine it he regrets, but charlene shouldn't be with him in any case.....
Enough already. This novel is dragging slowly. Updated with 2 chapters only. REALLY!!! Whoever the author or authors of this novel why is there a delay in penning more chapters? Here’s my question. In reading the comments from others does their opinions matters and/or make a difference? Are comments being monitored? Or is it only a tool allowing readers to blow off steam?...
