She cleared her throat. “I’m not a captain yet. I still don’t have the required flight hours.”

Anneliese smiled and pulled out her phone, giving it a playful shake. “Then it’s only a matter of time before you’re promoted. Can we take a picture with you?”

Jessica immediately nodded, her eager eyes making it hard for anyone to refuse.

India gave a reserved nod. “All right.”

With that, the two girls quickly moved to stand on either side of her.

Adjusting the camera, Anneliese stretched out her arm, but it felt wrong to just take a selfie. India’s whole aura deserved a full–body shot. So, she handed the phone to Jonathan. “Please take one for us.”

Jonathan accepted the phone, momentarily thrown off.

Zion was just as stunned. Ms. Malone has been chasing Mr. Fullbuster for nearly a decade and even ended up a pilot herself in the process! And here I am, worried she and Anneliese might clash over Mr. Fullbuster, but what on earth is happening?!

India then walked over to Jonathan. “I have some thoughts about the internal recruitment program. Let’s discuss it over dinner.”

Jonathan understood this was most likely why India had brought it up. He nodded, then glanced toward Anneliese. “I won’t be able to join you for dinner. Maybe-”

He was about to suggest that Anneliese and Jessica could come along to experience the staff dining hall, but she quickly waved him off. “It’s fine. You’ve already done more than enough these past two days. Go on with your business. Jess and I will head out first.”

She tugged Jessica along, the two of them leaving together.

Not far away, two flight attendants passed them, whispering excitedly.

“Look, it’s Mr. Fullbuster and Ms. Malone! They’re such a perfect match.”
