At White estate, Selina clutched the DNA test results, shouting to see Melanie and Perseus.
Once again, the servant blocked her at the door, her patience wearing thin.
“You’re not the White heiress anymore. Mrs. White doesn’t want to see you. Leave.”
“Alina! Even if I’m an illegitimate child, I’m still a daughter of the White family. Illegitimate children have the same inheritance rights as legitimate ones. This estate belongs to me too. Even Mrs. White has no right to keep me out. Open the door–I have something important to tell her and my brothers!”
“Pfft! You think you’re someone special? You’d love the whole of Oceaton to know you’re just an illegitimate child. Get lost!”
Alina spat at her. She had suffered plenty under Selina’s bad temper over the years. When Selina was the family’s pampered princess, Alina didn’t dare talk back. Now that Selina still acted superior despite losing her status, no one was willing to tolerate her anymore.
Watching Selina tremble with rage, Alina spat another mouthful of phlegm at her.
“Ah!” Selina screamed, stomping her foot. She was determined to meet Melanie and Perseus that night.
Jonathan’s words kept echoing in her mind.
‘Back then, everyone in the White family helped you cover it up. Do you really think they’d still do that now?‘
Panic spread through her chest. If Perseus and the others turned on her and went to the police about hiring someone to hurt Anneliese, she’d be finished.
Leaving wasn’t an option. They needed to know immediately that Anneliese wasn’t really their daughter or sister.
As she shook the iron gate again, headlights swept over her. Perseus and Christopher White were home.
Her face lit up. She rushed forward. “Perseus, Christopher, you’re finally back! I have something significant to tell you!”
The car window lowered, revealing their bruised and swollen faces.

She covered her mouth, eyes turning red. “Oh my god, who did this to you? Did you call the police? How could this happen?”
Tears welled up in her eyes.
In the past, Perseus and Christopher would have been touched, thinking their sister truly cared for them. Now, her exaggerated reaction only made them feel disgusted.
“Get lost! You’re not welcome here,” Perseus snapped.
Selina saw he was about to drive in and hurried to the passenger side, pleading with Christopher.
“Christopher, you’ve always cared about me, I—”
Christopher cut her off with a bitter laugh.
“Yeah, I’m the stupid one. Trying to brainwash me again?”
He hadn’t forgotten that their current situation was thanks to Selina and her mother.
Realizing they wouldn’t be swayed by emotion, she dropped the act and shouted urgently, “Anneliese isn’t your sister!”
The car screeched to a stop before entering the estate. Selina was eventually brought inside.
The servants were dismissed, leaving only Melanie, her two sons, and Selina in the study.
“No way! This has to be fake! It’s definitely fake!”
Melanie stared at the report, which stated that she and Anneliese weren’t biologically related, shaking her head in disbelief.
“You’re up to something again, aren’t you?”
“What are you trying to pull? How could Anne not be our sister? We did a DNA test when we found her!”
