When The Moon Hides Her Crown novel Chapter 167

Chapter 167 Bloodline

How did I end up in this situation?

I slowly lifted my head, my gaze darting between the two of them. What the fuck are you two doing?Phina growled through me as I shoved their hands off. You’d better stop this nonsense right now!

But Ryker’s watch got caught on the sleeve of my shirt. The fabric ripped slightly and his hand was still brushing my arm.

Ronan’s eyes burned like molten lava when he saw it. His breathing deepened, heavy, and dangerous like a bull ready to charge. Rip that fucking watch off his sleeve!he snarled. He doesn’t want you touching him, so keep your damn hands to yourself!

Who are you to decide what he wants and what he doesn’t?Ryker tilted his head, his voice low, his wolf flashing in his eyes, startling everyone around us. His tone was.lethal, each word dripping with challenge. Who the fuck are you to touch him so boldly in my presence? Just who the hell are you?

Me?Ronan stepped forward, his voice a growl that rumbled through the chamber. I am Alpha Ronan Volkstane. Son of the Southern Alpha. Heir of my bloodline. The future Alpha of thousands of wolves under the Duskbane Legion Pack,” his declaration boomed through the sacred chamber like rolling thunder, freezing every Alpha in their place. His eyes never wavered from Ryker’s. Now tell me, who the fuck are you, other than just a name?

All eyes shifted to Ryker. His expression had darkened, a storm gathering behind his gaze.

What’s the matter?Ronan pressed, his voice sharp as a blade. No pack to claim? No bloodline worth naming? Then at least tell us your parentsnamesor do you not even know whose seed you are?

My hand trembled at my side, a cold dread spreading through me. Rykerhad no pack? No bloodline? No parents? The thought hollowed me out with fear. His face, his entire aura shifted and I realized Ronan had struck his bottom line. My chest tightened. I had to stop this before it—

Daring to question my bloodline?Ryker finally spoke, his voice dropping to a chilling register that sucked the warmth out of the chamber, It is not funny that it is coming from someone who killed his own mother.

The atmosphere plummeted instantly, suffocating and frigid. Every Alpha in the chamber went deathly still, breaths caught in their throats.

My heart thundered in panic as I turned to Ronan. His face had fallen, drained of expression, but the shadows in his eyes told me everything.

Ryker stepped closer, his growl low, vibrating through the stone chamber. For someone who drove his claws into his mother’s heart and ripped her apart until she was fit to feed the pigs, you’ve certainly got some guts questioning my bloodline.

Silence. The kind of silence that heralds death. The air thickened, poisoned by their lethal auras clashing headon, filling the chamber with a choking tension.

And II stood frozen, shaken to the core. Not only by their hatred, not only by the threat of bloodshed but by the truth I’d just heard. Ronan’s past.

Their wolves locked eyes, bloodlust burning between them, and I realized with a sinking dread-

It was already too late.

You dared to mention my mother, you fucker,Ronan’s wolf spoke instead of Ronan, the voice so guttural, so unearthly, it shattered something deep within me. My whole body trembled.

In the back, Asher’s eyes had turned glacial, unreadable. Finn watched with a heavy frown, and the rest of the Alphas looked utterly stricken, alarm flashing across every face.

Then Ryker’s wolf answered, his tone colder than death itself. For daring to call me a wild seed, none of your bloodline should see the next sunrise. Not even the dogs and cats of your pack

It was then that I realized what it felt like for the world to end. My lungs locked as I watched both Ronan and Ryker shifting.

Didn’t Alpha Hugo say not to shift in the sacred room?!one Alpha shouted, panic breaking through the chamber.

Alphas scrambled back, their fear filling the air like smoke.

They have to stop!Finn’s expression darkened, jaw tight with fury.

Asher’s fists clenched, eyes flickering toward the ceiling. Why is the Moonstone acting strange?

My chest tightened as I noticed it too, the stone was pulsing, flickering unnaturally. Stop it!I screamed at both of them, my voice raw. Both of you STOP!

My cry broke into silence as Ronan and Ryker’s bodies finished shifting into their towering black wolves.

The chamber shook. Their roars collided, and just as they launched at each other fangs bared, claws out for blood, a blinding light exploded from the Moonstone. So sharp, so absolute, it seared across my vision, turning everything white.

Time itself froze.

I saw Ronan and Ryker’s wolves suspended midair, fangs inches from each other’s throats then the light swallowed us whole.

My heartbeat stopped. The ground ripped away beneath me. For a moment, there was nothing. Only void.

Then air. Breath.
