Chapter 173 The Curse Of Anger

KILL HIM! KILL HIM!

The curse screamed behind me as I ran past the Alpha after recognizing the bond with him. The curse had been getting closer and closer every time I passed by another Alpha and ignored it.

I kept my mouth shut, eyes fixed on the mist ahead, determined to finish this trial I never wanted to participate in. Especially after the bond between Seraphina and me had revealed my feelings for her. Of course even if I wanted to stop, I couldn’t because the curse behind me was real.

Whenever I stopped, even for a second after completing a bond recognition, it would start screaming and draw closer inch by inch. Still, I kept running, eyes locked forward. Because even before this damned curse latched onto me, I already knew what mine would be.

It was anger.

And it only grew angrier when it couldn’t get what it wanted.

Alpha Finn Hart,it whispered in my ear, its breath hot and furious, How long are you going to hide me?It giggled in rage. Remember, behind this calm mask of yours lives a monster no one dares to approach

My wolf growled in my mind when it said that. My fists clenched at my sides, and I barely managed to hold myself together as it whispered again, Even your mother feared you after giving you life

The veins in my neck bulged as my wolf snapped inside me. Old memories I had buried resurfaced like molten lava in my mind.

In that moment, my wolf’s eyes bled through mine, and I halfshifted. Without looking back I raised my hand to strike the cursed thing, but then an Alpha appeared in front of me, running straight toward my path.

He froze when he saw me, his face draining of color. The same fear, the same horror, I had seen in everyone who truly knew me flashed in his eyes.

My sanity snapped. My aura broke loose. All I could see was red.

The Alpha trembled, unable to withstand it.

He saw your real faceand look, he’s no different from the rest,” the curse hissed behind me, grinning. KILL HIM. KILL EVERYONE. THEY’RE ALL WORTHLESS!

I pushed harder, fury boiling to its peak.

Nothe Alpha stammered, stepping back in dread as I charged toward him. Don’t come any closer. Don’t- DON’T!He screamed and turned to run, but the moment he did, his curse rose from the ground, a towering demonic figure with glowing eyes and jagged teeth.

It grinned at the Alpha, relishing his fear, before leaning down and swallowing him whole.

Then it vanished into the mist.

FUCK!My curse shrieked, enraged that the Alpha had been killed by his own curse instead of me.

That’s when I realized something. These curses were not only hunting us, they were competing. Competing for dominance, for blood. They fed on our darkest secrets, the ugliest truths we’d tried to hide.

They were pieces of us, born from our shadows.

Still what the curse behind me didn’t understand was that it wasn’t the one in control.

It had come from me.

T

Not the other way around.

And it wasn’t even close to being a fraction of what truly lived inside me.

I increased my speed as the curse screamed and shrieked in my ears, its voice like nails scraping against my skull. That’s when a figure emerged from the mist ahead.

Asher.

Our eyes locked for a brief moment. I couldn’t remember the last time we had spoken outside the trials, to him or anyone because I never wanted to. From the very beginning, I’d seen the way he looked at Seraphina. He was as close to her as I wasand then there were Ronan and Ryker as well. It was obvious that they all wanted her.

Still I couldn’t let any of them get close to me. To anyone, really. Because I hated it all.

My bloodline mark burned faintly against my skin, and I noticed Asher’s gaze drop to it. He couldn’t read mine, but I could see his clearly.

The mark looked unfamiliar, and yetstrangely familiar.

As we closed the distance between

everything shifted.

I felt his bloodline.

us, our wolves flared in our eyes, and the moment our marks brushed,

Something about it was wrong. Manipulated. Altered, whether by force or his own hand, I couldn’t tell.

Then, in the same instant, the bond between us spoke.

You are my serendipity.”

A stunned silence fell between us.

His expression mirrored my shock but mine carried something deeper, something I couldn’t quite name.

Not a rival.

Not an enemy.

A serendipity?

Our eyes lingered for a moment longer before we ran past each other. The curse behind me began screaming again, its fury shaking the air. I glanced down at my bloodline mark, confusion and rage burning in my chest. What was happening? Was this trial so corrupted by curses that even our bonds were being rewritten? Nevermind that strange familiarity in Asher’s bloodline mark, why did it feel like I’d seen it before?

My fists clenched. My pulse throbbed in my temple. Earlier, Ronan’s bloodline had felt off too, tainted somehow, even though it appeared perfectly clear.

All of it disgusted me.

That’s why I hadn’t even bothered to seek out my bond with Ryker. I could already tell from afar that he was my enemy.

The curse drew closer, breathing heavily against my neck, its whispers crawling across my skin, when another figure appeared through the fog ahead.

Cassius.

The sight of him made my wolf snarl, bloodlust flashing in my eyes. The memory of him insulting Seraphina

that day seared through my mind like fire. My claws extended midrun, I was ready to end this trial my way-

That was when a piercing scream shattered the air, echoing through the mist, followed by a surge of power so sharp it froze every living thing in the forest.

Cassius stopped dead in his tracks first, his eyes wide with terror.
