Chapter 188 The Stalker
SERAPHINA
Cassius overheard everything. He discovered I was not only a woman but that I was Seraphina Nightbane.
My heart dropped into my stomach and for a second it felt like my soul left my body. This could not be happening. My secret was exposed. To the worst possible person who had a sinful grin over his lips when he said my name.
The silver bell shook the Academy floor while Casisus‘ grin grew bigger and bigger as he stated, “You had Reed expelled, dared to beat and humiliated me. It is fucking nerve wracking to find that it was all done by someone who does not even belong here. A woman of all things,” he looked at me up and down with wickedness, “Now this is the news everyone should know, right?” saying that he started backing away.
“No…” I whispered under my breath, my limbs growing colder.
“Starting with Alpha Gideon…” he smiled evilly.
“Don’t you dare!” I growled, my eyes glaring deep into his. “I will kill you if you…”
Before I could finish, he smirked and ran away. “Stop me if you can, bitch!”
Phina roared in my mind in fury as I ran after him three seconds later, dropping the receiver.
“Sera, what’s happening?!” Aunt Marrisa’s panicked voice kept coming from the telephone as she stated, “Afraid that your father will discover your whereabouts I lied to your dad and uncle that Seth is at Lupine Academy…”
Her voice slowly reached my ears because even if she had lied, it would be no use if Cassius exposed me.
The world narrowed to the sound of his footsteps pounding ahead of me, echoing down. the stone corridor like a countdown to my destruction. My chest burned with fury, my lungs. refusing to catch up with the storm raging inside me.
How could Cassius be there? No one was allowed to step in those corridors unless permitted, so how could Cassius appear there suddenly and listen to my conversation unless…
My mind froze for a moment as I realized something.
Unless…he was following me.
The realization struck me like lightning. Cassius was that stalker! He had been following me!!

The walls closed tighter with each stride. Every breath I took was sharpened with panic, every heartbeat a drumbeat of dread. Expelled. Exposed. Stripped of everything I had fought for. If he told Alpha Gideon, if he told the Academy then my life here was over.
Before my father became sure of my hide at the Lupine Academy everything I would have worked for, all of my dreams shattered. All the hopes, and my relationship with Ronan. Everything would be over.
Phina screamed inside me like crazy at the mere thought and glared at Cassius who was heading towards the instructors corridor. Moreover the shouts that called for catching an intruder and Alphas running in the other corridors echoed in my ears. Everyone was out of their rooms at this time of night. That meant I was going to be exposed in front of every single person in the Academy.
Of course, since their attention was on the intruder, I had an opportunity to handle Cassius.
I had to stop him before he could encounter any Alpha Instructor. I had to shut his mouth before he could even spill a word. Or even better… Phina appeared in my eyes as I set my eyes on his neck…
I better silence him forever.
I, Seraphina Nightbane, had never killed someone for personal gain but this time it was not only about my future but my love. My mate.
My claws came out as I increased my speed toward Cassius‘ wicked mocking laughter echoing in my ears, exploding the lava in my brain when suddenly I saw Alpha Gidon’s office down the next corridor.
My heart drummed in my chest. If Cassius reached that corridor, if he even stepped in, everything was going to be over…
My thought was cut short as the sound of Alpha Gideon’s office door opening stabbed my heart.
“No…” my heart dropped into my stomach when I realized Alpha Gideon was coming out.
“Hehe…goodbye little bitch,” Cassius grinned over his shoulder at me, as I witnessed my own destruction just a couple of seconds away.
Everything was over. He was too far for my reach. He was going to tell Alpha Gideon. I was ruined…
My thoughts were cut short at the sight of a figure appearing at the end of the corridor that Cassius was running towards.
I felt as the world slowed around me. Who was it? He was cladded in black and had hidden his scent and aura. The man’s face was covered with a black cloth as he locked his violet

eyes with my horrified amber ones as if he could sense my terror. It was as if he not only shared my desperation to catch Cassius, but also felt my greatest fear.
