It feels like Roman has been fucking me the whole night, but it’s still early-it’s only eight, and he has a thing
to go to.
“I’m sorry, baby,” he says against my skin as he combs his fingers through my hair. We’re still on the bed, our legs tangled. “I wish I could stay here with you, or even take you with me. But it’s just this boring, fuck ass meeting.”
I chuckle at his choice of words. He continues. “God knows how much I want to sleep after that. You’re incredible, you know that? I’ve slept with countless women, but none of them hold a candle to you.”
Jealousy washes over me. I ask him, “Have you ever slept with someone in here? In this club, I mean? Like the people out there?”
“Of course,” he responds before his gaze lands on my face. “I’m a wild soul, Nikki. Insatiable. At least, that was the case before you entered my life. Now, I’m all yours.”
I can’t describe just what his words do to me. We share a few kisses, but I’m so spent that they just make my stomach flutter and don’t turn me on. His hand finds my ass and he gives the cheek a squeeze. “Next time, we’ll put something in there.”
“I’m not sure if I’ll like it.”
“You will,” he assures me before licking my lips. “I’ll make sure of it.”
I watch as he climbs off the bed and starts pulling his clothes on. His body is out of this world. I don’t think there’s a man sexier than Roman Hayes. His muscles are defined and he’s got just the right amount of body hair to make him look masculine.
I can’t believe he’s all mine.
As he’s putting his pants on, he turns his head and shoots me this mischievous look that I feel in my tummy.
“Come on, Nikki. Get dressed. I can’t be late. You’re going to make me fuck you again.”
“I can’t help it,” I admit. “You’re just so damn perfect to me.”
This look crosses his eyes that I haven’t seen before. Roman looks almost…sad. Is that the right word? Was it sadness I saw just now? Slowly, he makes his way to my side of the bed again and sits down. His hand finds my cheek and he says, “I’ll never be as perfect as you are to me.”
My heart warms. “Roman.”
“You’re slowly becoming everything to me, Nikki,” he claims. “Fuck, I would do anything for you. I can’t wait to make you mine.”
We share a heated kiss that takes up even more of his time, and then, it’s really time to go. Masks in place, we head to the exit. Only when we’re in the car do we remove them. Roman places his hand on my thigh and

asks, “Ready?”
I nod, and he gets behind the wheel.

I place my hand over his and stare out the window. What does one say after what we just experienced in that room? We’ve had sex a few times now, but nothing compared to that. Who am I, really? I’m finding out more about myself in his presence in just a few days than I have in years.
It honestly blows my mind, but one thing is certain-I’m happy right here where I am, and despite the circumstances, I wouldn’t change anything about this.
“So,” Roman says, breaking the silence. “Mason’s really coming tomorrow?”
I nod. “Yep.”
Nervousness washes over me, but I close my eyes and tell myself why I’m doing this and why it’s so worth it. Roman is the love of my life, I know that now. How can I give up on this? I’m sure that whatever Roman did to Mason is forgivable.
It couldn’t have been that bad…right?
Roman nods slowly and doesn’t comment. Usually, he doesn’t go too far whenever my brother is mentioned, even if he’s the one doing it. His eyes meet mine once more and this time, he smirks. “You were amazing tonight.”
I smile. “I didn’t think I’d be into all that.”
“I knew you would. I know you, Nikki.”
“In that case, it feels great to be seen,” I remark. We clasp hands while he drives me home. We’re five minutes away when I decide to ask, “What’s that thing you’ve got? You know, the place you’re going to.”
Roman inhales sharply. “Just a meeting with a few prospective partners. Trust me, if it weren’t important, I wouldn’t ruin our evening to go.”
I shrug. “It’s alright. We’ve got many more evenings to go.”
The look in his eyes intensifies, and his hold on my hand tightens. He mentions, “I’ll make it up to you somehow, alright? We’re going to have a great time.”
He parks the car just across the street from Mason’s place, and silence falls upon us as we turn our heads to look at each other. My heart’s slamming against the base of my throat. Sadness clouds my thoughts for a few seconds, which is what happens every time I have to say goodbye to him.
“Nikki,” he says softly. We lean toward each other and our lips meet in a brief, soft kiss. The pressure of his lips against mine is all I need for it to be a head-spinning kiss anyway. “Tonight is a night I’ll never forget. Never.”
“Neither will I,” I admit.
“Stay safe, alright? I’ll call you in the morning. We’ll meet up and…I don’t know. We’ll just do something, alright? I can’t spend too long without seeing you.”
