Accidentally Yours (Merffy Kizzmet) novel Chapter 30

apter 30

Enro

That girl is a wildfire wrapped in the most delicious body I’ve ever seen. She just took Santino down with one kick. Glad I walked over at just the right time. He was way too close to my girl though.

Lola’s footsteps faded behind him–light, quick, retreating.

Enzo didn’t move.

Not yet.

Couldn’t even get one night out without someone acting a fool. Ugh, not what I want to be dealing with right now.

The man on the floor groaned, still clutching the knee Lola had shattered like it owed her money.

But Enzo barely saw him.

He saw red.

He knew that face.

Santino Valeri.

Second–in–command to Rafael Bellandi.

Of course.

I’m going to kill this bitch. Not today but when the time comes, it’ll be me for thinking he can get anywhere near my people and pull a stunt like this.

Bellandi didn’t make noise unless it had purpose.

Didn’t let his men roam without intent.

Which meant this wasn’t a mistake.

This wasn’t about Lola. Not really.

This was about Enzo.

A warning. A test. A fucking dare.

Santino will go back as a response to this declaration.

Santino tried to speak.

I didn’t mean-

Enzo stepped forward.

The air shifted.

He crouched slowly, boots creaking against the sticky floor, knuckles still loose at his side.

Chapter 30

You cornered her,” Enzo said, voice low and deliberate. Alone. In a hallway. With my name ringing in your ears.

“It wasn’t like that-

Don’t.

His tone sliced through the air.

She walked into one of my clubs. Holding my hand. And you thought she was fair game?

Santino started to sweat.

No one touches what’s mine.

Not by accident.

Not for sport.

Not for strategy.

“You looked at her and saw a target,” Enzo said, quieter now. “But let me make this very clear for you, if I see any of you sniffing around there won’t be war, there will be an extermination.”

Then he stood.

And hit him.

One punch. Clean. Controlled.

Broke skin. Maybe something else.

Not enough to kill–just enough to leave a memory.

Just enough to take the edge off.

Enzo knelt again, lowering his voice until it vibrated like thunder behind his teeth.

Tell Rafael I’m not starting a war tonight.”

A pause. A smile that wasn’t a smile.

“But if he sends someone near her again-”

His eyes locked with Santino’s, sharp as bone.

I’ll end it before sunrise.

He stood. Adjusted his cuff. Turned away without a glance back.

His crew was waiting.

So was his girl.

And Bellandi?

Bellandi had just made a move he couldn’t take back

Chapter 30

He didn’t look back.

Didn’t have to.

By the time he stepped into the main lounge, Marco and Nico were already moving.

Santino’s body was hauled up between them like trash being taken out after last call–no ceremony, no hesitation.

They knew exactly what to do.

No death. Just a message.

Painful. Precise. Unmistakable.

Enzo kept walking.

The music hit harder out here–bass thudding like a second heartbeat–but all he could see was her.

At the VIP booth, legs crossed, drink in hand, tossing her hair back mid–story like she hadn’t just been cornered in a hallway by one of his enemies and taken him down before anyone showed up.

She should be rattled. Shaken. Hiding in the corner or halfway to the limo by now.

Instead, she’s here. Laughing. Unbothered.

Like she didn’t just become a target.

They know about her.

O

Someone saw us walk in.

Saw her hand in mine and decided to make a move.

Which means she’s not safe anymore.

Not in the shadows. Not behind me. Not unless I put her in a fucking vault.

And still–she fought back.

That image hit him again like a flashbang:
