After knowing Who She Is They Kneeled novel Chapter 123

Chapter 123

Annelise smiled faintly: “Grandma’s asking what you want to cat. She’ll make it for you when you get back.”

Adrian also sensed the young Miracle Doctor was different today: “Grandma?”

Annelise’s gaze didn’t waver: “Grandma is right here next to me.”

Being called out, Madam Whitman got a little embarrassed, rubbing the bridge of her nose and muttering, “I was just worried you were lying to me.”

Annelise smiled: “So you believe me now.”

Madam Whitman nodded, her eyes filled with a smile.

Everyone on the spiritual path says the smartest one in the Winthrop family is Adrian.

And it was true. Adrian only heard a couple of sentences before his lips curved into a smile: “Grandma, what did she lie to you about?”

He didn’t call her Madam Whitman, but followed Annelise’s lead and just said Grandma.

Madam Whitman let her guard down even more: “I was just overthinking. Annelise said you two were dating, and I didn’t believe her.”

“Dating…” Adrian’s gaze fell on that stunningly beautiful little face, his tone slow and deliberate, his eyes full of inter-

est.

Madam Whitman was confused: “Is that not right?”

Annelise was just about to speak.

But Adrian spoke up again, his laughter low: “Yes, we are dating. She’s finally stopped hiding me. She said it’s a trial period, and that I wasn’t allowed to tell anyone.”

This lie he was spinning… was a bit much. The corner of Annelise’s eye twitched.

Madam Whitman disapproved: “Annelise, that’s not right of you. Why would you hide your boyfriend? When you’re dating, you should announce it openly.”

Adrian gave a light cough, and as his eyelashes lowered, his voice became a bit hoarse: “She just wanted to focus on her studies first, so she wouldn’t make you worry, Grandma.”

Madam Whitman couldn’t bear to see it and comforted him: “I’m not worried about Annelise being with you. You two can date normally. Grandma isn’t an old-fashioned stick-in-the-mud.”

Only then did Adrian look up and smile: “With you saying that, Grandma, I can rest easy.”

“Grandma, let me talk to him for a second.”

If she let a certain someone keep making things up, it would be impossible to walk it back.

But Mrs. Zhang looked like she was totally shipping them: “The young couple needs to have a little private chat.”

Madam Whitman nodded, in a great mood.

Annelise’s tone was quite helpless as she spoke into the phone: “Forget it. We’ll talk when you get back.”

“Okay.”

Adrian looked at those eyes that rarely showed emotion, his pleasant voice tinged with a smile, inexplicably captivat- ing: “Girl. Friend.”

That last title was completely unnecessary. Annelise hung up the video call and met her grandmother’s smiling face: “Now, can you rest easy, Grandma?”

“I can, I can!”

Madam Whitman said cheerfully to Mrs. Zhang: “This young man is much better looking than that one from the Davis Clan.”

Mrs. Zhang agreed: “More than just good-looking, their auras are like heaven and earth.”

Well, the two old ladies had no time to pay attention to the person actually involved.

Annelise walked out of the clinic nonchalantly and sent a text with one hand: Thanks for that just now.

The Sick Beauty: My elders at home often bring up marriage pressure too. I get it.

Annelise had just typed out, “Well, you’re way too skilled at acting.”

When another message came from him.

The Sick Beauty: Wait for me to come back.

Seeing this, Annelise deleted everything she had typed.

“Okay.”

Abroad, Adrian looked at the reply, his eyes, usually as dark as a deep pool, now held some other emotions.
