Chapter 72
“They’re cunning, constantly switching virtual IP addresses. Their location is different every time. The only thing we can lock down is Criford, and it took our tech guys three days to figure that out.”
Chief Yuan frowned. “As for the other one, we can’t find anything no matter how we search.”
It’s rare to see someone who can completely stump the Task Force.
The last time this happened was three years ago.
Adrian looked away, his voice low and lazy. “Why not think about it differently? Start with the Kendrick family’s en- emies.”
“The Kendrick family’s enemies?”
Chief Yuan understood immediately. “You mean this is a personal grudge?”
Adrian stood where he was, his gaze lowered. “So far, no organization has claimed responsibility for this incident. Showing up as an informant… it doesn’t seem like the work of some random do-gooder.”
“True.”
Chief Yuan thought for a moment, then called over a plainclothes officer from his team. “Go check the Kendrick fam- ily’s social connections, especially who they’ve had conflicts with recently.”
“Yes, sir.”
Adrian’s voice was slow. “Actually, Chief Yuan, there’s no need to rush.”
“What?”
Chief Yuan was confused.
Adrian put on his rosary beads, his features refined, like clear snow or a bright moon. “This isn’t over. Given the per- petrator’s style, he’ll show up again.”
Show up again?
Chief Yuan’s heart skipped a beat, a sense of unease creeping in…
After the Task Force members left, the glass door to the room was pushed open.
The Patriarch, dressed in a traditional jacket, appeared at the door, his mustache bristling. “I knew you were involved, you little rascal.”
“Nothing escapes your wise eyes.”

Adrian walked over to support the Patriarch, chuckling softly.
The Patriarch glared at him. “Don’t give me that. Who do you think I held this seminar for!”
“For your male heir.”
Adrian replied with a smile, not forgetting to give the bodyguard a look.
The bodyguard took the hint and immediately withdrew.
The Patriarch pursed his lips. “Alright, stop trying to be clever. You know your own body. If it’s hard for you to help me, then don’t.”
“I’ve been feeling much better these past two days.”
Adrian was naturally sensitive to the cold; he gave a light cough as he spoke.
The tickle in his throat reminded him of the herbal lozenge someone had fed him that day.
It was cool and soothing. It seemed he needed to find time to visit the clinic.
He hadn’t been in three days. He wondered if that person still remembered him, their patient.
The Patriarch didn’t know what his grandson was thinking, his tone full of regret. “That Etherhart Herb was such a good thing, and you just gave it up.”
“Weren’t you planning to give it up too, Grandpa?”
Adrian helped the Patriarch sit down. “It’s just one Etherhart Herb. It’s not that big of a deal.”
The Patriarch sighed. “This Kendrick family… they’re really no good.”
Adrian poured the Patriarch a cup of tea. “Mm.”
The Patriarch looked at him. “They deserved it. Don’t you go helping the Task Force catch the informant.”
Adrian’s finger toyed with the tea leaves in his cup. “Grandpa, I have no intention of doing that.”
