Claire saw the mark too. She knew the rumors were true when she saw her step sister was here. When she heard the omega, Kean, gossiped about the king’s woman, and where she came from, Claire immediately asked for detail.

The way Kean had described it, made Claire was thinking of Rania. She was one of the most beautiful girls in the pack, if she took care of herself, and people stopped throwing shit at her.

The last time she met her was two years ago, before she left the pack with her destined mate, without saying anything, because she knew Caden would have killed her mate, and her step father wouldn’t agree to the relationship.

Claire gave up the pack, and her position as the luna for her destined mate, she thought, she would never see any of her family member again.

However, Rania was lying on the bed now, and shockingly, she was the king’s mate, which meant, she would be the future queen of this kingdom. Yet, Claire was worried.

“What happened with her?” Her first thought was; the king was the caused she was here. That the mad king had assaulted Rania, thus she ended up in the infirmary. He was the Mad King, after all.

They were not close, but she didn’t hate her either, it was more like she didn’t pay attention to her. But, they were away from their pack now, somehow, Claire felt differently about their situation.

“She has stomachache, I put her to sleep, because she is very weak. I think she ate too much spicy. The royal gamma gave her Marshmallow stick with hot spicy.”

Claire was thinking the worse, thus she didn’t expect this would be the answer. She raised her brows? “The royal gamma did that? If it’s too spicy, why she didn’t stop eating?” She was still suspicious.

After she lived in the warrior quarters with her mate for six months, she knew how the royal gamma was. He was cheerful, and friendly, someone that you would put your guard down, but he wouldn’t be the royal gamma if he didn’t have the vicious side like the king and the royal beta.

Lula sighed and then told her about the suspicion that the king had about Rania lost her tastebuds.

“Don’t tell anyone about this,” Lula said in a low voice, she then handed Claire the medicine that she needed. “Come here, I will check you and the baby too, while you are here.”

Claire gave her hand, but her eyes were still on Rania. She was currently three months pregnant, and the morning was rather bad for her, but Lula had been very helpful.

“Do you know her?” Lula asked when she followed Claire’s gaze. She only knew Claire came with her mate half a year ago, and they came from Thornwolf pack, thus she assumed, she also originally from that pack.

“Yes, she is my step sister,” Claire said, after some contemplation, which surprised Lula.

Rania woke up with a start, at her usual time. It was two hours before the sunrise, and her body remembered

that, no matter how tired, she was.

At first, she looked around her, and was confused, because this was not her bedroom in the omega’s quarter, but it was not also her splendid bedroom in the king palace.

Slowly, what happened to her earlier came to her mind, and she remembered the acute pain in her stomach, which was now gone,

Rania looked around, squinting her eyes against the glowering light from the lights above her, and realized she was in the infirmary.

This infirmary was well equipped compared to the one they had in the Black Stone pack, which was understandably so.

She was alone.

Rania then pushed herself from the bed into a sitting position. She was slightly dizzy, and when she stood up, the whole room tilted. She needed to grab the edge of the bed for support.

It took her some time to finally regained her composure, and once she did, Rania walked toward the door, and tried to find her way back to her bedroom, but she was at lost.

She looked around her, and realized, she didn’t know where she was.

Last night, she could get to the infirmary because it was the king, who took her there. That was why, she didn’t have any idea what direction she should take.

In the end after walking along the corridor, she decided to go back to the infirmary, and waited for someone to come, so she could ask, where to go from there.

However, when she turned around, she was stunned to find the king was standing ten steps away from her, staring at her with his sharp eyes.

She must be too distracted, and was still slightly dizzy to notice him, but then, how could she realize he was there when she had lost her ability as the shifter? Her senses were not as sharp.

But now, it didn’t matter, because she was stuck between going back to the infirmary, or walking toward different direction. She didn’t know what to do; should she approach the king, and greet him, or pretend that she didn’t see him?
