Romina’s heart suddenly leapt into her throat.
She knew very well that if she was willing, he really could make it happen.
But when it came down to actually taking that step, she was overwhelmed by fear, her feelings too complicated to put into words.
Joaquin pressed on. “Don’t you want to be with me?”
Suddenly, Sabrina’s image flashed through Romina’s mind.
Sabrina was about to finalize her divorce, and they would probably be together soon. Romina didn’t want to repeat the same mistakes.
“Mr. Bowman, you should sort out your own affairs first! Let’s talk about this later…”
“Later? When is later?” Joaquin suddenly gripped her chin and pressed her against the large floor–to–ceiling window. “Give me a time?”
“Mr. Bowman, you have power and influence. What kind of woman can’t you have? Why do you keep holding on to me? Was it just because we slept together once? That shouldn’t be enough of a reason for you to keep chasing me, right?”
After all, he was surrounded by beautiful women, with good figures, backgrounds, and careers–there were plenty of them.
She didn’t think she had any special qualities that could attract him so much…
“Romina, after we were together, did you really feel nothing? You don’t like me?”
The man’s expression darkened, his gaze fixed on her eyes as if trying to see through them and uncover some clue.
But unfortunately, aside from indifference, there was no other expression to be found
Romina looked back at him quietly; to say she felt nothing would be a lie.
But she knew she couldn’t give him too much hope just yet…
Because she herself didn’t know what the future would hold, or whether he and Sabrina would end up together.
