Chapter 76

Valerie had chosen a very secluded spot in the restaurant that people rarely walked past. The fact that Lucius was walking over here clearly meant that he was here for Valerie.
“You…” Valerie was about to speak when Lucius grabbed her by the wrist.
“I told you I’d come and fetch you later,” he said.
Valerie struggled in his grasp. “I haven’t finished my food.”
But Lucius dragged her away instantly, not bothering to waste time arguing with her. He even ignored the other guests, whose attention was drawn to his actions.
Lucius had his own private guest suite on the cruise ship, being a VIP and all. It was a large room with all the facilities one would need, including a dining table filled with a large array of
food.
Valerie grinned. “You could’ve told me that you wanted me over for a meal.”
Lucius tossed her a bag before she sat at the table. “Change your clothes before
you eat.‘
She looked striking and sensual tonight in her bodycon dress and bold makeup. Lucius didn’t want more people ogling at her, nor did he want to admit that he was starting to desire her in
a different manner.
Valerie grabbed the bag Lucius tossed to her and peered inside. It was a set of women’s sportswear in black.
“Are you playing with me?” she asked.
Why did Lucius prepare sportswear for her? Was he not aware of the kind of event that was on tonight?
Lucius gently took Valerie’s golden headdress off, making her hair cascade down her shoulders. He could smell the fragrance of her shampoo.
Valerie reached out to grab the headdress, but Lucius swiftly tossed it aside. He even wiped her red lipstick off with his thumb.
He had always been a domineering man. “This style of clothing suits you more. If you don’t want to change into it, I can always do the honors.”
Valerie preferred loose–fitting clothing compared to body–tight dresses. She had to admit that Lucius had a good eye for clothing. Not only had he chosen a set of sportswear with a trending design, but it was also very comfortable.
So, Lucius soon felt much better after seeing Valerie obediently change into the sportswear.

“Why Darrell Foster?” he asked.
“He has an invite,” Valerie answered, still changing into the clothes.
“Don’t I have one, too?”
“What does that have to do with me?”
“I’m your husband,” Lucius said.
Valerie rolled her eyes at him. “Yep, the husband who invited another woman to join him on board tonight.”
The emotion in Valerie’s eyes made Lucius soften somewhat. “So, did you use Darrell just to get back at me?”
Valerie ignored him entirely.
“How do you know him?” Lucius asked.
“Mr. Foster is the love of my life,” Valerie said, trying to rile him up on purpose.
