Bound by Magic, Married by Fate novel Chapter 86

Chapter 86

1/2

When Lucius walked past Darrell, the latter’s voice rang out from behind. I know there’s no hope for me at this point. I just don’t want anyone else to end up like me.

I didn’t take you for a saint, Mr. Foster.

If that incident hadn’t happened, we might’ve even been friends.

Lucius brushed off the conversation and left without looking back.

A couple of steps later, he saw a familiar figure stumble before falling to the floor, unmoving.

Lucius turned around to see Darrell collapsed on the ground. He looked terrible, and there was even blood oozing from the corner of his mouth.

Darrell managed to say, There are attackers onboard. We might be surrounded already.

Darrell then blacked out without another word.

Only then did Lucius realize that the deck, which had been teeming with guests earlier, was now empty and silent. Silas and his fleet of guards had disappeared, too.

The first thing that came to Luciusmind, surprisingly, was where Valerie could be.

Oh, Lucius. You never would’ve imagined that things would come to this, would you?A man who looked to be in his 30s came over suddenly, flanked by bodyguards.

He looked very rugged, and there was even a fierce scar on the right side of his face. The man wasn’t badlooking at all. In fact, he was a little handsome, but his rugged air made people

very uneasy.

Lucius recognized him right away. It was Caelus White, his halfbrother’s son.

Generationwise, Lucius was Caelusuncle. But agewise, Caelus was more than a decade older than Lucius was.

Lucius hadn’t seen him since that incident from ten years ago.

Caelus. You’re still alive,Lucius said.

Caelus walked over menacingly to Lucius, sporting his scar. It’s been ten years since we last met. You’re no longer that scrawny young teen from back then. Look at how handsome you are now. How time flies!

Were you behind all this on the ship?Lucius asked.

Caelus chuckled loudly. Shouldn’t I prepare a grand present for my uncle? It’s been ten years, after all.

What an interesting present it is.Lucius smiled back.

Caelus had always despised how smug and confident Lucius was. He said, I bring unfortunate tidings, Lucius. Your time has come to an end now that I’m back. In the end, I’m still the rightful successor to our family.

Lucius gazed at Caelus, as if the latter had made the world’s greatest joke. You’ll never become the family’s successor, Caelus, not even after my death. After all, criminals can only live in the shadows.

Caelusexpression contorted the moment Lucius said the word criminals.
