Bound By Moonlight to My Mates (by Sofange Daye) novel Chapter 36

Chapter 36

Ronan

The Southpaw Pack house glitters underneath the moon. Every light is on. They are waiting for my arrival. Lucian is pacing on the front steps, and I smile, knowing that if he is still here, so is Charlotte.

I push my way to the porch. My guards flank me, but I barely register that they are there. Thorne is pacing recklessly under my skin, clawing at the sides of my brain; her scent is here, but it is also not.

She’s gone.

Lucian stands in front of the door, his jaw is tight, daring me to step forward. Jake and that fucking demon flank him. All of their shoulders are squared, creating a united wall against me.

I waltz toward them, keeping my head high, not giving a fuck about their bared teeth or angry gazes. The three men track my every movement, and the demon flexes his hands into fists. He doesn’t trust me, but I don’t trust him either. I have never understood why the Southpaw Pack enlists his services when there are werewolf healers that don’t call upon the Goddess of Death. He is my

biggest problem, and to make it worse, he is not one who is easily dealt with.

Where is she?My voice comes out low and deadly. It is both a question and a challenge, because if they lie to me, I will kill them all. I don’t give a fuck about alliances. Not anymore.

Lucian folds his arms. We don’t know.

Thorne surges forward. Liar! You are her knight. She is always by your side.”

Lucian rolls his neck. Not anymore. My father is dead, and someone has to run the pack. The duty of her knight has been passed to the next.

I hadn’t yet heard the news that Alpha Luca had died, but I can’t find it in myself to care. He was a good man, but he is also not the reason I am here.

Who?The word rumbles in my chest like a growl.

That is none of your concern,Lucian returns my growl. Charlotte is no longer here. I sent her away. My pack was not safe with her here. Is that not the same reason you sent her away?

I didn’t send her away,” I snarl. She disappeared into the night, and then blood thirsty rogues showed up on my borders. They were looking for her. I am sure of it.

The fucking demon steps forward. Ronan, listen

I cut him off with a snarl. I am not talking to you, demon.

He clutches his hand over his heart, feigning disappointment. How rude.”

I keep my eyes on Lucian. I said. Where. Is. She?

Jake takes a step between me and his Alpha. Back off. She’s not your property anymore.”

The air shifts with my power radiating off me in waves. Thorne has already lost his temper. He pushes to the edge, trying to break free. But the Alpha in me clings to the singular shred of control I have left.

I take a step back. I need to put space between me and the men who have stupidly charged themselves with protecting Charlotte. Only one of them is missing. No rogue. No Charlotte. Only their scents cling to the pack house like ghosts. My stomach drops. I know where she is.

Chapter 36.

Rogue territory,I snarl the words. Of course.

Lucian’s expression doesn’t flicker, but his eyes tell me everything. I am right.

Pulling my phone from my pocket, I tap the video I saved. It starts immediately, and I turn the screen so they can watch. Isaac’s screams burst from the speakers as the video plays. I have seen it too many times. My beta, strapped to the infirmary bed, silver cuffs biting into his wrists and ankles as he thrashed from side to side.

I thrust my phone closer to them. Look.”

Jake swallows hard as he looks at the screen, and so does Lucian, but the demon looks bored.

This is what’s coming,I warn them. This is what happens when you touch her. My beta took her virginity, and now look at him. Now his mate is afflicted as well. This is what’s spreading.”

I pocket my phone, stepping closer, my shadow looming over them. If she isn’t stopped, if she’s not contained, you’re next. All of you. Your wolves will go feral. Your packs will fall.

The demon speaks first. You’re blaming her for this?

ww

I’m blaming the reality we’re standing in.I grind my teeth. I’m blaming what’s written in her blood.”

The demon scoffs. I don’t have a wolf; this feels like a you problem.”
