Bound By Moonlight to My Mates (by Sofange Daye) novel Chapter 55

Chapter 55

This apartment isn’t the same as the one above the club. It’s smaller. A studio apartment with beautiful wooden floors. No couch, only a massive black bed pushed under the singular window. A beautiful kitchenette in one corner and a door leading to a bathroom on the opposite side. That’s it. No walls. No doors. No place to hide.

I can feel them behind me. Damon is leaning against the counter, and Jake is by the window. Tala prowls under my skin. The close proximity to their wolves is driving her insane. She tries to force a partial shift, wanting to mark them both, just as she did Ronan. But now is not the time. Though I am not sure there will ever be a right time.

I need a shower,” I mutter. My voice sounds weaker than I want. Alone.

Damon’s mouth twitches like he’s already amused. Sure, little wolf. Go ahead.”.

Jake says nothing, but his eyes follow me as I cross the room. The bathroom door clicks behind me. I search for a lock, but there is none. Leaning against the door, I try to catch my breath, but I can hear their murmurs on the other side. For once, they aren’t fighting. That should bring me a little bit of joy, but the thought makes me uncomfortable. What if they gang up against me?

The bathroom is just as beautiful as the rest of the studio apartment. The small space smells of Damon’s soap. I peel off my clothes and twist the handle until hot water fills the shower. Steam curls around me, and I stand under it longer than necessary. I brace my hands against the tile, trying to breathe out the tension.

But no matter how hard I try, I can’t shake Damon’s words from my mind. The thought of all four of them placing their hands on me makes a familiar wetness form between

my thighs.

Damon’s low voice filters through the door. You’re thinking too loud.”.

She doesn’t want us in there,” Jake hisses in return.

Damon chuckles. Relax, brother. I’m not joining her in the shower.”

The door creaks open, and steam rolls out. I peek out from the shower door and see Damon’s silhouette filling the doorway. His broad shoulders brushing the frame. His eyes catch the light, and he smirks like he owns the place, probably because he does.

Need a towel? He asks, holding one out.

I’m not finished,I hiss, closing the shower door behind me.

He moves into the bathroom, but not only him. Jake is right on his heels, looking everywhere but at the frosted glass of the shower door.

We can wait,Damon replies. I wouldn’t want you to slip getting out of the shower.”

I am a big girl,I spit. Big enough to take care of myself.

I don’t doubt that,Jake says, and I swear I hear a hint of humor in his voice.

Peeking my head out of the door again, I glare in their direction. What is it going to take to get you two to leave?

The two men share a look with identical mischievous smiles. For the first time, they resemble brothers. I can almost imagine what they were like growing up together. I am sure they were a handful.

Damon steps toward the shower, a towel still in his hands. We promised Ronan to protect you

and that includes accidental slips getting out of the shower.Jake finishes.

I scowl at them both before slipping back into the shower. I wash myself faster than I would like, but knowing they are watching me through the glass makes me rush. Finally, I turn off the water and reach for the towel in Damon’s hand. He doesn’t let go of it right away. His fingers deliberately brush mine, and heat sparks up my arm.

He smiles when I snatch the towel from him. Get out,I snap. Both of you.”

Damon grins, but retreats. Jake frowns, but it isn’t real.

back against the tile, exhaling. As soon as I calm down, the door creaks open again.

This time it’s Jake. He doesn’t come all the way in, but he stands there staring at me with darkened eyes. Damon shouldn’t play with you like that,he whispers. But your scent is filling the air. It is driving us both insane.”

Then don’t smell me,I bite out.

His nostrils flare once, then he turns and shuts the door.

By the time I’m dried off, my pulse is a drum in my throat. I quickly wrap myself in a towel and push the door open, only to find them both waiting for me outside. Damon lounging on the bed, Jake is sitting at the small table.

Neither moves. Neither speaks.

I cross the room with a towel wrapped around my body. I don’t have any clothes.

Damon smiles. Good.
