Captive Princess (Sophia) novel Chapter 38

Sophia shot to her feet, knocking over a bottle of perfume. The sound of shattering glass was jarring.

“Vincent? She couldn’t believe it. “How did you get in?

Vincent didn’t answer, just stared at her, a dark fire burning in his eyes.

You’re coming with me,” he said, his voice raw.

Sophia took a step back. “Are you insane? The wedding is tomorrow!

“So?” he sneered. “You’re really going to marry him?

“That’s none of your business.”

It is.” He closed the distance between them. Anything that concerns you

is

my business.

Sophia’s heart pounded: She glanced toward the door, but the hallway was empty. Vincent seemed to read her mind. “Don’t bother looking. He won’t be able to get here for a while.

“What did you do to him?!

Relax I just had my men delay him.”

Sophia clutched her dress. “What do you want?

Vincent stared at her and suddenly asked, “Do you love him?

Sophia froze. “Not yet,” she finally answered. “But I’m trying to.”

“Trying?” The word seemed to sting him. “Sophia, when have you ever had to tryto love someone?

“Save your energy,” he whispered, using his other hand to pull off his tie and bind her wrists. “You’ll need it later.”

With that, he swept her into his arms and strode toward the balcony doors. Outside, a helicopter hovered, its rotor blades deafening.

Sophia’s eyes widened in horror. “Vincent! This is kidnapping!”

“So what if it is?he sneered, leaping onto the balcony with her. “I should have done this the first day I saw you.”

The wind howled, whipping her wedding dress around her. She looked back at the estate and saw Alexander’s distant figure

being held back by several men in black. He seemed to be shouting her name, but the wind stole the sound.
