Aurora’s P.O.V

The weight of their gazes pressed down on me, twin sets of piercing eyes scrutinizing our every move, our every breath. The two Alphas, towering figures of authority, sat before us, their expressions unreadable, their silence a vice squeezing at my lungs. I swallowed hard, my fingers twitching at my sides. Maggie, Ashton, the others–we were all standing in a row like criminals waiting for judgment. My heartbeat thundered in my ears, the room suffocating with tension as we waited for someone to speak first.

“Tell us everything,” one of them said finally, his voice a low command that brooked no

argument. “Every detail that might matter.”

A long pause. I could feel Maggie trembling beside me, her breath uneven. When she finally stepped forward, her voice was quiet, but the words she spoke sent ice through my veins.

“He kept them,” she whispered, as if saying it too loud would summon ghosts. “The skeletons. Of our mothers. He… he preserved them. In our room.”

The silence that followed was deafening. I watched the Alphas‘ expressions shift, something unreadable flickering across their features–disgust, horror, rage. Maybe all three. One of them exhaled sharply, his hands clenched into fists. The other’s jaw tightened, his eyes darkening as if picturing the atrocity.

“Lucas did that?” The Alpha Camden’s voice was clipped, controlled, but I could hear the fury simmering beneath. “He kept their remains?”

Maggie nodded, and I saw the way her eyes glistened. “Like trophies, she choked out. “He took them one by one and never let them leave. Just… locked them away with us.”

I clenched my fists. I had known, of course–I had seen my own mother’s remains, smelled the decay woven into the walls of our prison. But hearing it aloud, spoken in this cold, open room, made it real in a way that turned my stomach. Ashton shifted beside me, and when he spoke, his voice was rough, edged with frustration and something else. Something bitter.

“For five years, I’d been a captive, never able to escape. So I stole a spell book,” he admitted. “That’s all I could do. I hid it from him, practiced what I could in secret. But other than that…” He laughed dryly, shaking his head. “We were locked up like animals. There was no escaping that house.”

Alpha Jackson leaned forward, his eyes sharp. “What spells did you practice? Anything

useful?”

Ashton exhaled, running a hand through his disheveled hair. “Nothing strong enough to break out. I tried, but he was too powerful, too careful. Every door, every wall was enchanted. If I tried to fight back, he knew. He always knew and that’s when he decided to tie our powers to him. So that whenever we tried to use magic, it would be siphoned

off to him.”

Alpha Camden cursed under his breath, shaking his head. “That bastard.”

I took a deep breath, forcing myself to speak. “He didn’t just keep us locked away. He wanted us to be a part of his ritual to gain immortality. It didn’t even matter to him that we were his children. All he cared about was power, control, becoming stronger than

ever.”

The room went quiet again, and I could feel their eyes burning into me. One of them finally spoke, voice low, controlled. “You’re safe now. But we need to know everything. If there’s anything else—anything that could help us–you need to tell us.”

I glanced at Maggie, at Ashton, at the others. It was finally time to reveal the twisted truth that bound us all together.

I took a deep breath, my fingers twisting together as I tried to steady my voice. The tension in the room was suffocating, a heavy cloud of uncertainty hanging over us all. My gaze swept over my siblings–some faces filled with confusion, others with silent realization. They had waited for answers, and now it was time to give them the truth.

“We all share the same father,” I began, my voice wavering slightly. “But our mothers… They were different. That means we’re all half–siblings.” The words felt heavy leaving my lips, but I knew there was no easy way to say it.
