Chapter 275

Aurora’s P.O.V

His words were met with stunned silence, the weight of his generosity settling over the room. Relief crashed over me so suddenly that my legs nearly gave out.

Ashton, Maggie and Avery, three people who had been tormented by Lucas and Harmon for so long, suffering the same fate as me and losing everyone they hadnow they would finally have a permanent home. A place where they can breathe a sigh of relief without worrying about the horrible nightmares they had endured for so long.

I turned to him, my eyes burning with unshed tears. Alpha Camden, II don’t even know what to say. I can never repay this kindness.

His expression softened as he reached out, resting a reassuring hand on my shoulder. Aurora, child, you don’t owe me anything,he said gently. You are Caleb’s mate, and you’re like a daughter to me. There is nothing to repay. Family looks out for each other. Always.

His words broke something inside me, the last fragile wall of doubt and fear crumbling under the weight of his sincerity. I had spent so much of my life yearning for acceptance, for a place where I truly belonged. And here, standing before this man who had no obligation to me but had given me more than I could ever ask for, I realizedI had found it. Tears slipped down my cheeks, but I didn’t care.

Thank you,I whispered, my voice thick with emotion. For everything.

He gave me a small, knowing smile, then turned to the others, his presence commanding yet reassuring. Welcome to your new home,he announced, and for the first time in a long time, hope flickered in my chest like a flame finally given air to breathe.

Ashton’s voice carried a weight of hesitation as he looked between me and Alpha Camden, his lips pressing into a thin line before he finally spoke.

I understand that you’re offering us a place in your pack, Aurora, and we are grateful. But witches living in a house full of wolves? That’s bound to cause clashes. We don’t

want to intrude. His words were careful, but the underlying concern was clear. It wasn’t just about sharing spaceit was about trust, about history, about people judging them for who they were.

I exhaled softly, my gaze flickering toward Alpha Camden, who stood beside me, his arms crossed over his chest as he listened. I knew Ashton had a point, but I also knew there was a way around it. You won’t be intruding,I said, turning my full attention back to Ashton. There’s land left behind after my parental house burned down. It’s empty now, and it’s close enough that you’d still be near me, but separate enough that no one feels like they’re stepping on each other’s toes.I held his gaze, willing him to see that this wasn’t just a convenient solutionit was the right one.

Alpha Camden’s expression shifted, his posture relaxing slightly as he nodded in agreement. That could work,he admitted, rubbing his jaw thoughtfully. You’ll have your own space, but still be under our protection if needed. I’ll make sure that the new house that is built is sturdy and safe for everyone.

I saw the tension ease from Ashton’s shoulders, though a shadow of doubt still lingered in his eyes. But in the end, he nodded. Alright. If that’s what you want, then we’ll accept.

With that settled, it was time to say our goodbyes. We turned to Alpha Jackson and his pack, who had been nothing but gracious in hosting us, despite the circumstances that brought us here. Jackson gave Camden a firm handshake, his usual stern expression softening just slightly. Safe travels,he said simply.

Camden dipped his head. Thank you. I hope our alliances will help us move towards a brighter future.

One by one, we exchanged farewells, murmured words of appreciation, of promise, of caution. And then, it was time to leave. As I climbed into the car, the familiar sense of departure settled over methat strange mix of relief and unease, of moving forward while leaving something behind.

As the car rolled forward, I found myself glancing out the window, taking one last look at the pack members standing outside. Most of them were already turning away, returning to their lives, but thenI saw her.
