It would be a waste of memory capacity if she were to remember every trivial matter and unimportant people.
However, it was possible for her to turn a blind eye to the malice that Pablo's mother had against her as long as she did not say or do anything to offend her even more.
The incident had resulted in a scene where four people had to sit down together on a couch.
Upon meeting with Kinsley and his wife, Patrick's gaze turned icy cold. Their presence had inevitably reminded him of the unpleasant memory.
For instance, he remembered the dirty talk of Pablo in Royal Joy Club where he shamelessly asked Amelia to be his woman.
What was more, he could not forget the sickening scene where Pablo tried to touch Amelia's face with his perverted hand.
Unfortunately, Pablo inherited most of his parents' features. Therefore, even only at a sight of them, Patrick could not help feeling irritated.
It would be best if he could just chase them away.
Patrick came out with such a willful thought.
In the next second, Kinsley said guiltily, "Mr. Patrick, as Pablo's parents, both of us feel extremely ashamed of his conduct. Had we not buried ourselves in the pile of workload all the time and hence neglected him, perhaps he won't..."
Probably at this point in time his speech had reminded him of Pablo who was yet to regain consciousness due to the grievous injury sustained. A surge of agitating pain prevented him from finishing his words.
Furrowing upon listening to what he had to say, Patrick remained expressionless.
The truth was that he was counting down to the time when it was appropriate to finally chase them out from his house. He could not wait to hug Amelia to sleep after they were gone.
Although apparently Patrick was not in a mood to listen, Amelia on the hand felt sympathetic towards Kinsley. After all, other than happened to be Pablo's father, Kinsley had done nothing wrong.
Nevertheless, Amelia was well aware that her sympathy towards Kinsley did not mean that Pablo deserved to be forgiven.
What was more, all this while Kinsley was asking for forgiveness from Patrick. This meant that the final decision was placed on Patrick's hand. Therefore, it was inappropriate for her to interrupt the negotiation between the two men.
Kinsley did not let his grief take charge of him. It did not take long for him to recover from his emotions and continue, "Mr. Patrick, after all my son had already gotten his punishment for what he had done. Therefore, can you forgive him for what he had done in Royal Joy Club?
Regarding the loss of damage caused to Royal Joy Club as well as non-pecuniary loss sustained by Ms. Ramsay, please state a price, Mr. Patrick. We..."
"We have nothing but money." Patrick interrupted coldly.
For a moment, Kinsley was lost for words.
Fortunately, he soon thought of the gift he brought along. He turned around and took over a box that was exquisitely wrapped from his wife before he placed it in front of Patrick and Amelia warily.
Before opening it, Kinsley spoke exaggeratingly in order to flatter them, "My wife and I came across this set of jewelry in one antique shop when we went for a business trip in town.
We were attracted by the handicraft and textures of this piece of jewelry that we decided to buy it.
But we soon thought of Ms. Ramsay as the best person to have this set of jewelry. Only her fair complex of skin and beauty deserves to be the owner of this master piece!"
This was no doubt the difference between Kinsley and his wife.
He knew very well what mattered to Patrick the most.
In fact, what he cared of the most was his wife.
That was why this incident involving his wife had gotten on his nerves!
Hence, there was no use for him to apology without targeting on the core issue to the problem.
Upon hearing Kinsley's explanation, Patrick asked, "Are you saying that this is for my wife?"
Seeing that he had successfully attracted Patrick's attention, a hint of excitement was able to trace from his trembling voice as he exclaimed, "Yes! That's right!"
Patrick subconsciously glanced at Amelia. However, he could not tell what was on his mind as she seemed expressionless.
He sneaked a glance at Patrick nervously just to figure out that he was not moved at all.
Kinsley had no other choice but to plaster a smile on his face, "Um... What do you say about this jewelry set, Mr. Patrick and Ms. Ramsay?"
Upon hearing this, Patrick took a glimpse at Amelia. Although she seemingly had her eyes on the jewelry,
Patrick could tell that she was distracted by her own thought.
Withdrawing his gaze at her, he turned and said to Kinsley in his face, "Nothing special."
Hearing this, Kinsley's smile began to fade.
Patrick could not help glancing at the clock on the wall behind Kinsley before he urged impatiently, "Is there anything else that you wish to say?"
Kinsley's hands which were holding the jewelry box all this while trembled a little as soon as he heard Patrick. He got the message that Patrick was going to chase them away.
If Patrick and Amelia were not going to accept their gift, he wondered if this was a sign that Patrick might still avenge on them.
Under such a tormented state of mind, Kinsley was pushed to his breaking point. He stopped beating around the bush, "Mr. Patrick, I'm well aware that no amount of money and gifts can fit into your eyes. Do you mind telling me that what can we do to repay your loss in exchange for your forgiveness of my son's mistake at Royal Joy Club?"
Staring at them, Patrick asked faintly, "Did I ever say that I'm going to avenge?"
Kinsley was stunned by this question as he stammered, "Um..."
Patrick tapped his knee and continued to demand for an answer, "Did I?"
Kinsley seemed lost at this question. He shook his head as he replied, "No, you didn't."
Patrick continued again, "Then did you hear any rumors saying I'm to going to avenge against the Kennedy Family?"
