Kinsley continued to shake his head, "Um no."
Knowing that Kinsley owned a coal mine, Patrick asked again, "Had anyone messed with your coal mine?"
Kinsley stammered, "Um... No. So far no."
Patrick gave him a tiny nod before he furthered his question, "How about Pablo who is in hospital now? Had anyone removed his nasal cannula?"
Kinsley denied, "No."
"If none of these had happened, what are you still worrying about?"
Patrick could tell that Kinsley's eyes were full of doubts. However, right this moment all he wanted to do was to have them leaving from his house. Hence, Patrick said, "Don't worry. I had already taught Pablo a lesson for what he had done. I won't make you pay for his fault.
However, my promise won't count if there's going to be anything that upsets me again in future. Hah! I bet you dare to disappoint me no more, am I right?"
Kinsley and his wife could feel their hearts missing a beat upon hearing Patrick's insidious laughter. They hurriedly promised, "We won't disappoint you again!
It's our honor to have your forgiveness. We promise that we will stay clear of your path."
The amount of price that they had to pay for offending Patrick was already disastrous. They could not imagine the consequence that they had to suffer if Howard or worse, Patrick's grandfather was involved!
After all, the Kennedy Family was only doing slightly better than ordinary people. They were nothing as compared to the power and influence enjoyed by the Hopper Family.
In the end of the day, Pablo was too young and inexperience to commit such a huge mistake!
Kinsley heaved a sigh secretly at the thought of this. He sounded determined as he assured Patrick, "We promise that we're going to educate our son properly so that he will never make such mistake ever again!"
Patrick replied faintly, "I hope so."
If Pablo were to offend him again, Patrick swore that he would end his life in his own hand!
Outside the garden,
Amelia escorted Kinsley and his wife to their car before she said distantly, "Take care."
Holding the jewelry box in his hand, Kinsley pondered as to whether he should give away the jewelry to Amelia. Having in mind the fact that Amelia had already rejected his offer earlier, he thought that it might be inappropriate to present the gift to her again.
But even if he kept the box to himself, he could not help feeling incomplete.
"Dear, they had already asked us to leave. There's no point for us to stay any longer."
In fact, Pablo's mother could not wait to leave this place with Kinsley as well as the jewelry box in his hand. Since Patrick had already promised that he was not going to avenge on them, she could not understand that why would her husband still hesitate to leave.
The truth was she was glad that Amelia had shown no interest in the jewelry that they brought over. In this case, she would be the rightful owner of them.
"Shut up!" Kinsley bawled in frustration before his wife might come out with anything that offended Amelia. It seemed like his wife had not realized the influence Amelia had over Patrick even if he was not around here.
Seeing that Kinsley was raising his voice at her for the sake of their mutual enemy, Pablo's mother could no longer contain her anger, "It's a waste for me to give you this kind reminder! Fine, go ahead and waste your money. I don't care anymore!"
With that said, Pablo's mother stomped away furiously and got into the car. Sulking, she would not get out from the car no matter how Kinsley tried to convince her.
Kinsley too was enraging with his wife's behavior. In addition of his anger, he could not help feeling nervous and embarrassed as Amelia was still there watching their conflict.
Kinsley could not tell her emotion from her expressionless face. He had no other choice but to apologize, "Um... Ms. Ramsay, I'm sorry that my wife was being rude. I hope that you wouldn't take it to heart."
Amelia tugged a strain of hair behind her ear before she said faintly, "It's okay, Mr. Kennedy."
"Well..." Kinsley's gaze immediately fell back onto the box that he was holding in his left hand.
Amelia continued, "So, it was you who can decide whether to accept the gift or not."
Patrick chuckled before he muttered, "It was you who didn't want to accept the gift at the first place. How can you make me into taking the blame for non-acceptance now? I was all this while waiting for you to nod at his offer only."
Taking a side glance at him, Amelia fired back, "Aren't you used to take everything into your own hand? Since when that my opinion matters?"
Squinting, Patrick said, "Had I been taking everything into my own hand, you would have been tortured by me over and over again by now."
Amelia gritted her teeth relentlessly. Somehow he would manage to turn a serious conversation into his dirty talk!
"I don't want to hear your nonsense. I'm returning to my room now!" Upon finishing her words, Amelia shoved him away before she strode into the house.
There was no doubt that it would be rather impossible for Amelia to shove a well-built man like Patrick away with her petite body size.
Therefore, precisely speaking, it was Patrick who made way for her to bypass him.
Shifting his gaze to the end of the road where Kinsley's car had headed, a trace of possessiveness flashed across his eyes.
There were two reasons behind his refusal to accept the gift. First of all, he was aware that Amelia had shown no interest in it. But secondly and also most importantly, he selfishly hoped that Amelia would only wear jewelry that was gifted by him.
The next day evening at Apex Construction Corporation.
Amelia's expression turned gloomy as soon as she saw the Lamborghini parking at downstairs of her own company.
She wondered what was the reason that drove Patrick to come here again.
It did not take long for Patrick to solve her puzzlement. He said, "Get into the car. I'll fetch you to the hospital. We'll pay a visit to dad."
With her eyes widened, she could not bring herself to believe her ears as she asked, "Again?"
