Amelia's eyes were staring at the road all this while. Meanwhile, Patrick was staring coldly at her. He remained unmoved even after the traffic light had turned into green light. Amelia could not help saying, "It's green light now. Can you move your car now?"
Upon hearing this, Patrick was overwhelmed with deep sense of frustration. His anger had nowhere to vent to.
In fact, he had tons of words to express, yet he could not bring himself to tell her at this moment. Hence, he could not help feeling defeated.
"You're going to pay for this when we're home!"
Sulking, Patrick could only try to make himself feel better through throwing this sentence at her. With that said, he withdrew his gaze from Amelia and resumed driving.
Meanwhile, Amelia stared into the blank. In fact, she was not feeling any better than him. She did not mind picking up what they left in the car upon reaching home.
Both of them were engaged in their own thoughts. The truth was both of them were suffering from varying degree of panic upon knowing that they were going to meet with the two key persons in The Hopper Family.
They were trying their very best to keep their respective secrets from being exposed.
It happened that there was an intersection point where their secrets met.
And that Sissi was the reason that they crossed their paths in the attempt of keeping their secrets.
At Land of Fragrance.
Just as Amelia was about to open the door, the man standing behind her could no longer stand with her silent treatment. He abruptly grabbed her arm and made her into facing him.
Amelia swept a glance coldly at his darkened expression before her gaze fell static on his hand that was grasping her arm. She reminded faintly, 'Are you sure that you want to shame us in public?"
As soon as she finished her words, it happened that two students had just cycled pass them.
Despite of his reluctance, Patrick had no other choice but to let go of her.
Amelia continued to open the door of the gate and walked across the garden before she stopped by and opened the door of the house.
Upon entering the house, Amelia was being pressed against the wall before she could remove her shoes.
"Patrick, what do you want to do?" Amelia shouted in panic.
Her question was answered by his subsequent action.
In the next second, his overbearing kiss landed on a patch of skin on her neck. His kiss was aggressive as if he was venting his anger that he had been suppressing all this while.
Amelia had to suffer from his mad violence. She could not help wondering that Patrick was in fact biting her rather than kissing.
With her back being pressed against by his weight along with both of her hands which were secured at her back, his abusive kiss at the neck was wholly unbearable. Amelia cried out, "Patrick, you're such a b*stard! All you know is taking advantage of women!"
Patrick was getting more aggressive upon hearing this.
Feeling the agitating pain, Amelia completely lost her mind. She continued to shout, "Now it makes sense to me why would Sissi run away with other man. I bet she can't stand your abuse too! Ah!"
Knowing that Amelia was trying to provoke him, Patrick could not help losing his temper still.
Amelia who was all this while suppressing her anger aired it all out, "You're feeling frustrated because I spoke your mind, aren't you? Ha!"
As a consequence of her provocation, not a single inch of her neck was uninjured from Patrick's violence.
Eventually, her scolding began to fade as her energy was drained away from her useless struggle.
It was only then Patrick glanced up at her. With his eyes reddened, he growled, "This is your punishment for mentioning Sissi."
Unwilling to admit her defeat, Amelia answered back, "Let me tell you one more time. You're the one who started mentioning her name."
Patrick swept a glance at her bruised neck before he asked coldly, "You haven't learnt your lesson, have you?"
Amelia sneered, "You're the guilty one who try to cover up by punishing me."
All she could see was her wrist, which was already swollen with bruises on it. She immediately took a look on another hand just to find out that it was equally bruised as well.
At first sight, it seemed like she was wearing one bracelet on each of her hands. Even at the absence of a mirror, she could tell that there were bruises scattering on her neck.
Amelia was infuriated to the extent that she reached out in an attempt to give Patrick a tight slap in face.
However, it seemed like he had already foreseen such a move from her. Patrick managed to grab her wrist before she could land her hand on his face. It was also this forceful grip that immediately drew a hissing sound in pain from Amelia. Her gaze at him began to fuel with loathing.
Patrick swept a glance at her wrist just to find out the mark of bruises on her wrist that were caused by him.
His heart sank at the sight of this. He was not sure if he had been using excessive violence against her or she was in fact too vulnerable.
He thought that he had been keeping his strength under control all this while. That was why he was baffled at the discovery that he had injured her again.
Meanwhile, Amelia was feeling dejected at her failed attempt to slap him.
Upon seeing that Patrick was frowning as he stared at her wrist, she wondered if he was planning to break it. After all, judging from his vengeful character, it was not entirely impossible.
However, to her surprise, Patrick merely took a look at it before he let go of her wrist gently.
Amelia had to admit that she could not help feeling relieved. At the same time, she was driven by an impulse to slap him again.
Her intention was so obvious that Patrick could tell from her face. In the next second, he muttered
coldly, "If you ever act rashly, I swear that I'm going to repeat what I had just done to you all over again."
Amelia was stunned.
A moment later, she felt a surge of chest pain overwhelming her. At lightning speed, she disappeared from the sight of Patrick.
Patrick stared at the back of Amelia absentmindedly. The moment when she turned around and looked him in his eyes, he could tell that there were no tears at all...
