Milton came back to his senses and said. "It took you only half a second to finish counting the 'one, two, three."
Maryanne went back on her word. "I don't care! I don't care! I want to see Aunt Sierra!"
Milton insisted and said, "Be good. Let me send you back first, and I'll pick you up tomorrow."
Maryanne threw his hand away angrily. Although it was an accusation, she said it delicately and innocently, "If I'd known that you'd be iron-hearted, why would I beg you!"
Having said that, she pushed Milton's chest and turned to run towards the Cook's house door.
Milton was caught off guard and was pushed back a step by Maryanne, but he quickly steadied himself and started chasing after her.
However, at this moment, Maryanne had already shouted, "Aunt Sierra! Aunt Sierra! I'm Maryanne! Your future daughter-in-law! Please come out and meet me if you heard my call of love!"
"F*ck!" When Milton heard Maryanne shouting, he immediately realized that Maryanne did not believe his words!
Milton knew that it was too late, although he could catch Maryanne by stretching out his hand.
Even if he caught her, tied her up, and threw her into the bushes, he would not be able to explain to Sierra that who had been yelling at the door a moment ago.
"Never mind. I'll just sit between Amelia and Maryanne later. So that I'll be able to detect anything amiss with Maryanne right away!"
After making up his mind, Milton calmed down and said, "Maryanne, stop yelling. I'll take you inside."
Maryanne shut her mouth and turned her head around. She gave Milton a rascally smile. "If only you've made this decision earlier."
Meanwhile, Sierra, who was inside the house, was putting down her cutleries. She asked Amelia, who was looking around beside her, "Amelia, did you hear any sound?"
Amelia stopped looking around and looked at Sierra. "Er, I seem to hear someone calling you..."
"Looks like I heard it right," Sierra said. Then, she stood up from her chair and looked straight through the living room and in the direction of the entrance.
Amelia followed Sierra's sight and looked sideways. After a while, Milton came in from the entrance.
However, he did not come back alone. There was a girl following him, who was looking down. She only raised her head with a smile when she was approaching them.
Maryanne?!
Amelia's body could not help but tremble after seeing Maryanne's appearance clearly!
Maryanne was smiling. She also saw the second person at the dining table, other than Sierra.
A flash of pain and a self-deprecating smile appeared in the bottom of her eyes. But just after a blink of an eye, her expression was just as before, cute and lovely.
After the two girls looked at each other, they turned their eyes in another direction at the same time as if they had not seen each other.
"Maryanne!" Sierra let out a surprised cry after being stunned for a few seconds.
Maryanne's smile deepened as she responded sweetly, "Aunt Sierra."
Maryanne wrapped her arms tightly around Milton's left arm, and her body was clinging to him.
Milton was forbearing her pestered. After all, they were in a relationship for the time being. He should not refuse these basic intimacies.
After the joy of reunion, Sierra could not help asking the same question as Milton. "Maryanne, why did you come back out of a sudden? Milton, why didn't you tell me before Maryanne was back?"
Hearing this, Milton frowned slightly.
Hearing that Maryanne had said she was doing good, Amelia nodded and said insincerely, "Well, that's good for you."
Sierra spoke timely, "The dishes are getting cold.
Let's talk while eating. Oh, by the way, Maryanne, wait for a while. I'll go and get you a set of plate and cutlery."
"Thank you, Aunt Sierra!" After she thanked Sierra, Maryanne tugged Milton's arm and said. "Milton, shall I sit with you?"
"Okay." Milton gave a brief reply and tried to pull his arm out of Maryanne's hand.
However, Maryanne's fingers were like suckers, tightly sticking to his arm. She really could not be removed unless he threw her hands away.
However, if he threw her off, it was inevitable that he would arouse the suspicion of Amelia.
In this manner, Amelia, Milton, and Maryanne took their seats.
When Sierra came back, she saw her son was sitting in between and did not serve Maryanne, who had just arrived. She could not help but feel a little disappointed in his manners and said, "Milton, take this plate and cutlery for Maryanne."
Hearing this, Milton looked up, and a new set of plate and cutlery had come right under his nose.
Maryanne was sitting next to him, but Sierra insisted on him showing off his gentlemanly manners in front of her.
Although Milton was trying hard to resist, he still accepted the plate and cutlery calmly and put them in Maryanne's hands.
"Thank you, Aunt Sierra, thank you, dear!" Maryanne, holding the plate and cutlery, smiled at them wholeheartedly. As if they were the people who treated her the best in the world.
