Patrick put down his meal and asked, "What happened?"
Amelia pouted, "I guess there's sand in the greens."
Patrick came over and squatted right in front of her before he ordered, "Open your mouth and let me check."
"I don't want!"
"I said open it now!"
"I said I don't want!"
The agonizing pain made Amelia sounded as if she was throwing a tantrum like a kid.
With a hint of decisiveness flashing across his eyes, Patrick reached out to hold her cheeks forcefully. As a result of pressing pain coming from both side of her cheeks, Amelia had no other choice to open her mouth.
Under the murderous look of Amelia, Patrick took a close inspection at her mouth before he drew his conclusion, "I don't think it's the sand that had caused your discomfort. I think you're having a swollen gum."
With that said, he let go of her.
Massaging her cheeks, Amelia could not help but sneer, "You're not even a doctor! Firstly, I don't stay up at night. On second point, I don't have decayed tooth. There's no way that my gum is swollen!"
"While it's true that you don't have any decayed tooth, are you sure that you have not been staying up late at night lately?"
His words immediately sent her into a startle. She came to realize that she had not been getting enough sleep for the past two nights ever since Patrick sprained his neck.
It was probably the cause of her swollen gum at this moment.
She snorted, "Well, thanks for your reminder then. So it turns out that my toothache is caused by you."
Patrick decided to turn a deaf ear on this and began asking, "Do you have any anti-inflammatory medicine or painkiller with you?"
"Yes! Hold on, no! I don't have any of such kind." Amelia reacted quickly, "Return my phone to me so that I can ask Audrey to get me."
Patrick patted her head before he said, "Are you still thinking of asking for help from your assistant? My advice for you is to forget about it! She's just someone clumsy and forgetful!"
Frowning, Amelia had no other choice but to point a finger at her desk before she murmured, "There's anti-inflammatory medicine in the second drawer from your left."
Patrick smiled, "That's right!"
Upon his return, there was a glass of water that she had not finished drinking earlier and a box of antiinflammatory medicine in both of his hands.
After ensuring that Amelia took the medicine in front of him, Patrick abruptly murmured, "Well pay a visit to dad at the hospital tonight. After that, can you follow me to The Hopper Mansion and visit mom?"
Upon hearing him, Amelia nearly spat out the medicine that she had just swallowed. She exclaimed, "You want me to follow you back and see your mom?!"
"She is your mom too!" Patrick thought to himself.
Frowning, Patrick replied, "Yes."
"Forget about it. I have nothing to say to your mom."
"Had you forgotten what happened last night? As a daughter-in-law, don't you think that you are obliged to concern her? Don't you feel bad at all for what had happened to her?"
"I don't need you to lecture me as to how to be a good daughter-in-law! It's your mom who caused the relationship between me and her to end up badly. Instead of accusing me, I think it'd be better for you to go and blame her."
"Why can't you learn from Nora? All you have to do is listen to what mom has to say. Don't ever talk back or argue with her. After all, you know her character."
"Learn from Nora? Yeah, I admit that Nora is someone understanding while I'm just a stuck-up person who only thinks of myself! Why didn't you marry a woman like Nora instead of me?!"
"Amelia!" Patrick was completely triggered by her words. He was infuriated to the extent that his voice was shaking when he roared at her, "How many times are you going to push me away to other women?!"
"If you don't like me to push you away, then you should at least stop comparing me with other women. No one is ever perfect! If I were to be a perfect one that makes no mistake at all, I guess I won't end up marrying to you either!"
Patrick's expression darkened as he questioned, "Who else will you marry to then? Is that Milton?!"
He hissed at her insidiously, "It was the reason that had led me into arguing with my Mom for more than one time. It deserves to be destroyed for this reason
alone!"
Amelia struggled to retract as far as possible while she gritted, "Don't you ever dream of laying your hand on it!"
Patrick was infuriated to the extent that he wished to tear her apart at this moment. He shouted angrily, "Judging from how much you care for it, no one's going to believe that there's nothing between you and Milton!"
Hiding her hand at the back still, Amelia snorted, "There's nothing left to say to someone as stubborn as you!"
"I don't want to talk to you either! It'd be better if you give me your hand on your own. After taking the bracelet down, I can buy you anything that you want!"
He was not planning of letting her to keep the bracelet anymore. The bracelet had done enough to challenge his limit!
After all, he admitted that he was an obsessively jealous person. There was no need for him to continue pretending as if he was a generous and kind man.
Ever since the day he learned that the bracelet was a gift from Milton, it had always been a prick in his eyes. Had he not fooled by her pitiful look the other day, he would have shattered it into pieces in the
first place!
There was no way that he was going to let it be on her hand until this moment.
Hearing his narcissistic tone, Amelia began to say, "I don't want any single penny of you spent on me. You can save it to flatter any other women who would be glad to have you buying jewelry for her."
With his gaze went cold, Patrick reached out to her hand that she had been keeping at her back all this time. Despite her struggle to shove him away, he had managed to reach the bracelet anyway!
As soon as she realized that he already had his hand on the bracelet, she began to struggle frantically in order to free herself from his restraints. Patrick too began to lose his temper and patience in keeping up the effort to hold her still. All in a sudden, he broke her wrist with his excessive force asserting on her hand without his realization.
"Ah!" Amelia could not help moaning in pain.
In the next second, she gave up struggling and let him hold her hand feebly. Before Patrick could make another move to remove the bracelet, he was shock at the sight of Amelia trembling agitatedly.
