Upon seeing that Patrick's car was approaching, Amelia hopped into the taxi hastily and said, "Please get going now."
Patrick was not panicked either even if he failed to pick up Amelia.
At the sight of Amelia getting into the taxi stopped before his car, he decided to tail it.
Amelia could see from the rearview mirror that Patrick's car was following closely after. She gritted, "Could you please speed up? I need you to get rid of him!"
"Who do you want me to get rid of?"
"The Lamborghini on your left!"
"How is it even possible?! Do you what model of car I'm driving? There's no way that I can overtake him, let alone get rid of him."
Remaining in silence, Amelia had no other choice but to let Patrick do whatever he wanted.
A few moments later.
"Miss, we've already arrived at Land of Fragrance."
Upon hearing this, a bitter smile began to creep onto her face. As her smile faded, her gaze began to turn cold.
In fact, there was no need for her to get rid of him. In the end of the way, they both had to end up in the same destination.
After paying the taxi fares, Amelia opened the door and got out of the car. Patrick's car only took a brief stop next to her before it headed in direction of the carpark.
Amelia's gaze fell onto her right wrist. It was only then she turned around and entered the house with her expression cold.
When Patrick came in the house, Amelia was on the phone with another hand of hers holding a food delivery catalogue. It seemed as if she was waiting for another end of the call to respond to her.
His eyes flickered as he walked over and said, "I'll get the dinner done. You can take a rest first."
Amelia looked away as if he was invisible and began to talk to the phone.
Patrick could feel his heart sinking. He was about to say something. However, Amelia would not give him such a chance as she was engaged in the conversation with the person on the other end of the call.
It was until Amelia put down the catalogue and her phone that Patrick struggled to mutter, "I'm sorry for what happened at noon earlier."
"Your apology means nothing to me. You can't deny the fact that damage has already been done."
Amelia paused for a second before she continued faintly, "Didn't you just say that you want to get dinner done? You can do so now. It happens that I only order in for myself."
Feeling guilty still, Patrick said, "I can take care of my dinner. Just let me know if you need anything."
"All I need is for you to stay away from me."
"That's also the only thing that I can't do."
"Then there's nothing left to say between the two of us."
Amelia sat on the couch expressionlessly. She took the remote controller before she switched on the television and increased the volume. The volume was so loud that it could reach every corner of the house and as well covered Patrick's voice.
The stare of Patrick at her began to intensify. The bandage on her wrist had reminded him that he was not allowed to do use force on her.
He decided to give her space for the time being.
As soon as Patrick turned around and left in silence, Amelia could feel her heart sinking in melancholy.
She cursed the emotions that began to usurp her before she switched the TV channels in frustration.
After having dinner, Amelia soon came to realize that bathing was another dilemma that she was stuck in.
It was impossible for her to move her right wrist freely. Never got once she hated Patrick like how she did at this very moment even if she was aware that it was never his intention to injure her!
It was also at this time that she heard the sound of her room door being unlocked.
The color of Amelia's expression faded at the sound of door unlocking. However, it was already too late for her to stop the entrance of the unwelcomed intruder. In the next second, Patrick had already pushed the door open and entered to her room.
She hissed coldly, "Get out of my room now!"
He stated as a matter of fact faintly, "You need my help."
matter what."
She should have known that he was as stubborn as a mule!
Amelia glanced at him before she said, "Fine, you're now insisting to bathe me right? I'll let you."
Her compromise sounded emotionless and distant. However, Patrick did not seem to bother at all.
He bypassed her and came to the bathroom in order to fill the bathtub with water.
What he was doing at this moment was incomparable to what she had done for him before. He still remembered those days when she woke up early in the morning just to clean the bathroom of the hospital so that he could feel at ease using it.
While watching him, Amelia leaned against the wall expressionlessly.
After the water was heated to the right temperature, Patrick left the water to flow while he straightened himself and said, "Let me unbutton your shirt."
Standing right in front of him, Amelia warned, "Don't you dare to do anything unnecessary."
"I'm not going to take advantage of you now."
I see.
Patrick took a deep breath before he began to unbutton her shirt. Upon coming to the second button, his movement came to a halt as he tried to regulate his breathing.
Amelia scoffed, "So this is how you keep your words?" It was apparent that he could not leave his gaze from her chest.
Patrick came back to his senses upon hearing her sarcasm.
It had been some time since he last touched her. As soon as her delicate skin fell into his gaze, he could not help but wonder how did he manage to come this far without touching her.
The most frustrating problem was that he had injured her. For this reason alone, she would not ever let him come near her in the nearest future.
He struggled to suppress the feeling that had just aroused. He sped up removing all her garments remaining before he turned around and added body oil into the bathtub.
