Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1145

What was the point of their tea-brewing confectionery to store that much of tea leaves? Merely just to collect dust?

Upon seeing that Amelia was a little embarrassed, Patrick added in a strange tone, "It seems that President Ramsay's habit of asking too much from men has been ingrained in the common sense of your life."

Amelia suppressed the stabbing pain of Patrick's insult and retorted indifferently, "So what? Besides, from now onwards, my relationships with other men would not be a hindrance to Mr. Hopper anymore."

Upon hearing this, Patrick's eyes seemed to be filled with two balls of blazing fire. Instead of intimidating Amelia, the tea brewer who was given a cold shoulder at the side was intimidated instead.

Out of the corner of her eyes, Amelia noticed how tightly the tea brewer was clutching the price list. She then said kindly, "Mr. Thompson, I was just kidding just now, I'm terribly sorry. Please get us a cup of Earl Grey each, please."

The waiter hurriedly took the order and left.

After that, it was not Mr. Thompson who came with their tea but another waiter served them instead.

After Amelia took over the tea pot from him, she thanked the waiter.

After he left, Amelia immediately placed the tea pot aside and changed into an impatient tone. "Now, can we talk about my father?"

Patrick observed her movements and commented, "You were the one who ordered the tea and now you refuse to brew it. What a pity."

Amelia was unhappy. "This is because I suddenly figured out that, having a tea session with the people who we absolutely mutually despise is definitely a torture. So we'd better hurry up and get down to business instead. We can go about our separate ways after this."

Amelia did not intend to drink any tea, but actually wanted to find a way out from the awkward situation Mr. Thompson was in. However, Patrick's attitude really infuriated her. She could not help but argued with him for a while, but despite that, she was still in a disadvantageous position.

Patrick glanced at her, "With your father's strange illness, how can President Ramsay still part ways with me?"

The calmness on Amelia's face was wiped off in an instant. Patrick was clearly indicating that she was

under his control!

She finally could not hold in her past fear and anger any longer and vented it out. "Patrick, aren't you afraid that I'll sue you?"

Patrick stared at her blushed face and asked, "What do you want to sue me for?"

"I sue you for illegally injecting a weakening drug into my father's body!" Unable to bear it anymore, Amelia slammed the table between them.

Patrick curled his lips slightly, "Go ahead and sue me if you want to meet your father's corpse in a short period of time."

This was Amelia's final straw. She crossed over the table and grabbed Patrick's tie, cursing with all her might, "You b*stard! If something really happened to my father because of you, be rest assured that I'll make sure you'll never have even one day of peaceful rest in this lifetime! So you think that the fact that you're filthy rich, your brother is in the SWAT, and your grandfather is the central officer, you can compromise the law? If you really drive me mad, I will... I will make you pay the price of my father's life!"

Patrick's appearance was as distinguished and as charming as always. "In my life, besides murder and drug trafficking, I have done all kinds of bad things, and yet, I was still able to sleep peacefully every night. My sleeping quality, only you would know how good it is."

Amelia's eyes were red with tears. She was absolutely furious. Why did she even look out for this sc*mbag's reputation outside the Civil Affairs Bureau!?

She should have just let him fight with Sawyer until both sides were injured!

No matter what he did to her, Amelia still retained some sentimental feelings for Patrick. No matter how little, but he had brutally stabbed her heart with a knife!

Hatred pervaded Amelia's heart. When it was reflected through her clear eyes, there was a breathtaking kind of ghastly beauty about it, "What do you want from me so that my father can be healed?"

She did not try to hide the hatred in her eyes. Patrick's voice turned cold. "You're talking to me?"

Amelia stuck out her neck, "What bullshit! Don't play dumb with me!"

Amelia would love to kill him right there on the spot!

As expected, Patrick smiled so widely that Amelia began to feel like she was the foolish one. He replied, "What I did for your father was entirely based on the fact that you were once Mrs. Hopper. But, seeing now that you're no longer a member of The Hopper Family, I think... I'd really need to evaluate your entire identity."

Enduring Patrick's eyes as he looked like he was going to cut her open with his gaze, Amelia's little head which was on the verge of breaking down began to spin rapidly.

The most cruel way of revenge was never to kill a person with one clean stroke, but to torture them slowly to death.

If Patrick wanted to stab her to death, there was no need to tell her at all. The poison in George's body had already been deposited. Patrick could just let George to be bedridden for the longest period of time until death fall upon him.

But still, Patrick told Amelia of his plans!

The indirect twists and diversion from the main topic were simply because he wanted her to beg him for help, ultimately fulfilling his wish to torture her slowly!

Patrick wanted her to experience the endless pain and obstacles in the process of begging him, to which all Amelia could do was to endure through them.

This was in line with the beauty of Patrick's mode of 'revenge'.

Amelia had never once doubted that he had the ability to do things to the extreme. For example, when Patrick loved a person, he would unconditionally tolerate and protect her no matter the circumstance. However, when it came to the people that he hated, he would let the other party experience what it felt like to be living in purgatory.

Unfortunately, she belonged to the latter.

As she thought of this, Amelia bluntly told him, "Tell me the truth, your intention was for me to beg from you, isn't it? If so, then I'll plead with you now. Just tell me what you really want!"

Patrick placed his teacup down and looked at her, asking, "For your father, would you be willing to do anything?"

Amelia took a deep breath and staked everything in one throw. "Yes! As long as you pass me the inhibitor and let your medical team stay in Northville to develop the antidote for my father, whatever you want from me, as long as I have it, I'll give it to you!"
