After applying the dirty trick that he had learnt from Kaiden, Shawn finally earned the chance to be alone with Amelia.

Unfortunately, it seemed like the subject matter of their subsequent conversation lingered around Patrick. It was a disappointment for Shawn as he was hoping that Amelia got to learn more about himself through their conversation.

All in a sudden, Amelia's gaze fell onto his chest. She said, "Let's just put him aside, I should call a nurse to redo your bandage."

"Thank you, Ms. Ramsay." Shawn was overjoyed on the fact that Amelia had diverted her attention back onto him.

Amelia smiled and relied, "Don't mention it. I'm supposed to be the one to say thank you. You're really brave.."

"Really?" In an instant, Shawn was motivated by her compliment.

Amelia said sincerely, "Yes! I'm sure that you're going to be the star in the army. Hold on! Perhaps in the future, I can expect you to become an incredible army commander!"

Upon hearing this, Shawn could not help but to fall back into dejection. He was not a fool to not know that Amelia was avoiding to speak of anything that was too personal. He had to admit that she was a smart woman after all. She knew exactly how to compliment him without giving him any false lead.

After coming out from Shawn's ward, Amelia stopped a nurse who just happened to pass by. She requested for her help to redo Shawn's bandage while she headed to Alice's ward.

She assumed that Alice had already finished her meal by then.

Just as she was about to open the door of the Alice's ward, she heard a familiar noise coming from next door.

She sneaked a peek at the ward next door just to find out that Brittany was throwing a tantrum at a nurse. Upon closer inspection, she was surprised to learn that the nurse was no one but Kimberley!

"How did you even keep up with your work? I've told you that I don't take carrots. But it turns out that the meal you brought for me has carrots in it! Are you doing this on purpose to disgust me?"

"Ms. Ramsay, I'm so sorry! I must have forgotten about it! I don't mean to upset you. I'll pick up the carrots for you, what do you think?"

"Don't you know that once carrots are being cooked with other vegetables, the entire dish is ruined. How can you possibly expect me to finish the remaining?"

"Tell me, why can't you eat it?" It was at this time that someone interrupted them from a distance. Despite speaking from the door, her voice was loud enough to make sure everyone in the ward heard her. Brittany startled as soon as she heard Amelia's voice lingering in the air at this time.

Everyone in the ward including Kimberley and those patients who were sharing the same ward with Brittany could not help but look in the direction of the door.

It was at this moment that they were stunned by Amelia's beauty!

"Amelia?" Kimberley stunned for a second before she hurriedly walked over to her. She whispered, "I appreciate your goodwill to help me. However, it'd be wise for you not to involve yourself in it. This patient can be a handful to deal with."

Amelia replied faintly, "It's okay. She's my sister."

"What?!" Kimberley was taken aback by her words.

She barely remembered that Amelia had a sister during the time when they went to high school together. However, Amelia had never brought up anything relating to her sister at all. That was why the identity of her sister remained as a mystery to her classmates.

Despite the fact that it was coming from Amelia herself, Kimberley struggled to accept the fact that Brittany was Amelia's biological sister!

From Kimberley's perspective, Amelia was a near perfect woman who was admired by everyone. Not only was she a successful business woman who was gorgeous and well-educated, most importantly she was also humble and well-mannered.

Although it was true that Brittany was a beautiful woman too, she was nothing but stuck-up and shallow as compared to her sister. That was why Kimberley found it difficult to relate the two of them as biological sisters.

Amelia could tell from Kimberley's eyes that she was yet to recover from shock. She thought that Kimberley had never known that she had a sister all this while. Hence, she decided to explain, "Precisely speaking, she is my half sister. We share the same father."

Her explanation immediately relieved Kimberley from puzzlement.

"If this is the case, you must have inherited all your good qualities from your mother!" In the next second, Kimberley regretted her words as soon as

she blurted out such a reckless comment.

Fortunately, Amelia was not offended by her words. Instead, she put on a faint smile on her face.

In the next second, all they could hear was the sound of the toilet flushing.

When Amelia showed up again in the ward, there was already nothing left in the food container that she was holding.

She came over to Brittany's bed and showed her the container that was already emptied before. She said, "If you're not going to eat now, then don't expect that you're going to get to eat again next time."

With that said, she threw away the container.

Apparently, Brittany was dumbfounded by Amelia's harshness.

Right after, Amelia turned around and said, "Ms. Kimberley, you don't have to pity her or even get her food. A person like her will never appreciate your kindness."

Kimberley was startled at the chain of actions that Amelia had done from the moment she entered the ward.

Brittany could no longer remain in silence at this moment. She realized that Amelia had every reason to abandon her in this ward and have her survived on her own.

Despite holding the grudge against Amelia, Brittany called out, "Amelia, I want to be discharged from the hospital now!"

Amelia was disgusted by her calling out her name. She replied emotionlessly, "Judging from your condition now, I think it'd be better for you to stay in the hospital for the sake of your physical and mental health."

Brittany clenched her fist as she had no other choice but to beg Amelia, "I want to be discharged, Amelia! I beg you. I don't want to stay here any longer!"

Amelia rejected, "You can't even walk on your own now."

"No, I can! Let me show you!" Brittany hurriedly removed the blanket which covered her legs. However, before she could get down from the bed, she groaned in great pain as soon as she moved her injured knee.

Amelia could not help feeling fortunate that the ward that Brittany was currently staying in was fully occupied with patients. Hence, no matter how Brittany was going to cause a scene in there, there was no way that Alice who was at the next door would hear her. Amelia felt glad that her plan to take up revenge on Brittany was not interrupted. She then said to Brittany, "I think that you need a good rest."
