Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1225

Brittany took a deep breath before she hissed, "I can rest at home too!"

She had to return home as soon as possible. After all, she had not forgotten the fact that Daniel had assigned her with a task that she could not have completed if she were to stay in the hospital.

Amelia contended, "But I think the hospital is a patient-friendly place for you to recover."

Despite her boiling anger, Brittany began to have tears rolling in her eyes as she begged, "I want to see my Mom. Please, you need to let me see her. Otherwise, I'll keep on worrying."

Amelia snorted coldly. She knew very well what Brittany was up to. All she wanted was to see Alice so that Alice would help her out. Amelia scoffed, "I dare you to mention Aunt Alice again! Have you forgotten the amount of troubles that you have actually caused her?"

Before Brittany could say something in her defense, Amelia had already continued with her sentence.

"What's more, who's the one who broke Aunt Alice's heart in the first place? Do you think that she will agree into seeing you now?" Amelia took advantage of Brittany's sensitivity and insecurity. She decided to come out with the most ruthless words.

Indeed, Brittany believed her words.

She sat on the bed absent-mindedly and began tearing up.

Amelia thought that Brittany was probably thinking that Alice had abandoned her.

It made sense that why Brittany would believe her right away. After all, she had been breaking Alice's heart repeatedly these days...

However, what Brittany least expected was that Alice had been begging in her favor as soon as she woke up.

There were times when Amelia would feel jealous of Brittany. No matter what kind of troubles she got herself into, there were always people who were ready to clean up her mess for her.

Those people used to be George and Daniel. At this moment, it was Alice who would do anything for her.

Brittany had been well protected by those people. That was why she would never learn her lesson.

Whoever that knew of Amelia and Brittany would undoubtedly labelled the former one as someone thoughtful and mature while the latter one was well known as someone who was naive and straightforward.

As time passed, Amelia learned that she was not allowed to make a single mistake as it would attract overwhelming criticisms. However, Brittany seemed to deserve the spotlight and compliment for any things that she managed to do it right irrespective of the tons of troubles she had caused.

The unfair treatment that Amelia received was undoubtedly ridiculous!

Amelia decided to act recklessly for one more time at this moment. She continued, "Therefore, you should rest here for your recovery. I'll send someone over to fetch you home once Aunt Alice has forgiven you. By the way, I will inform your school that you're taking a sick leave."

"Amelia! Please don't go... I don't want to be here alone!" Brittany begged pitifully as if she had no one left that cared for her.

She had not brought along money and her phone there. Alongside, there was no entertainment that she could use in the ward. She was certain that she was going to go crazy if she were to stay any longer and have those elderly patients gossiping about her.

At the sight of Brittany's teary look, Kimberley could not help saying, "It's such a pity for her..."

Amelia shook her head secretly. After all, Brittany was good at pulling the victim card so that she could use the sympathy of others in order to achieve her purpose. Amelia knew Brittany too well that she would never fall for her trick.

"Kimberley, I would like to have a word with you." With that said, Amelia turned around and headed to the door without looking back.

Kimberley was impressed by her refined and autocratic temperament. She could not help wondering about what Amelia had been through over time to shape her into who she was at this moment.

At that moment, Kimberley turned around and sneaked a side glance at Brittany who was still whimpering in the blanket. Just as she was about to comfort her, Brittany abruptly glanced up and shouted at her vindictively, "Get lost!"

It took Kimberley some time to recover from the shock. She regarded herself as an experienced nurse who had came across with all sort of patients. Some of them were no doubt bad-tempered. However, she would only come across patients who was as emotionally unpredictable as Brittany only when she was being placed on duty in psychiatric ward!

"Ms. Brittany, it'd be better for you to relax. Otherwise, your wound on your knee is probably going to be torn apart again." As a nurse, Kimberley felt that she was obliged to remind Brittany about it. With that said, she turned around and left.

"Sigh!"

She remembered that she assured Kimberley that Patrick had only done so because he was worried of her.

All in a sudden, she was enlightened at this realization. A surge of indescribable feeling began to take charge of her.

"I agree with you. I think Mr. Patrick is just trying to protect you from strangers who came out of nowhere."

Amelia came back to her senses and said, "Kimberley, you're not a stranger to me!"

Kimberley laughed it off as she said, "Oh no, I don't mean it that way! What I'm trying to say is, that you and I, we're high school mates. We had not seen each other for several years until recently. It's reasonable for Mr. Patrick to cast a doubt on my motive.

Especially for a good-looking man like him who comes from an elite background, it made sense that he struggled to trust people around him. Initially, I was not planning to bring this up again but, as soon as I see you, I can't help feeling uneasy. That's why I thought that it'd be better if I explain it to you.

I might be very dull and plain, but I'm a dignified person anyhow!"

Amelia turned around and entered Alice's ward after she bid farewell to Kimberley.

As she expected, Alice had totally no idea what happened next door.

Upon seeing her, Alice asked smilingly, "Amelia, I'm done eating. Can we go home now?"

Amelia answered, "Yeah, I'm here to pick you up."

Alice could not help asking, "How about Brittany?"

Amelia replied steadily, "I suggest that it'd be better for her to stay here a little longer. After all, the medical professionals are here to monitor her recovery twenty-four seven."

"All right then." It was not hard to tell from Alice's expression that she had enough on her plates to worry more for Brittany. She said, "To be frank, I can no longer make Brittany listen to me anymore."
