After much hesitation, the security guards had decided to have two of them to follow Amelia to ensure that she had no other intentions other than going to the toilet.
While Amelia did not object to their idea.
She had seen Patrick's determination in not seeing her through his actions. She would be at disadvantage if she went hard on him so she decided that it was better to go again the next day.
To be honest, if it had not been for the heavy rain outside, she would have rushed out.
However, in the face of the crowd, walking in the rain would not bring her any benefits. It would only make her look stupid instead. She thought it was definitely a better choice to take her time in going to the bathroom to refresh herself since she might catch a cold if she went out in the rain.
Looking at Amelia's beautiful figure as she left, an arrogant man deliberately said some unpleasant words to the sales department, "Did you see that? Your former leader is just an idle person now that she's being followed to the toilet, worrying that she might do something bad!"
"The two security guards better check her bag when she comes out later, in case she steals something from the toilet... F*ck! Who, who hit me?!"
"It's me!" Doris could no longer hold it in that she stood up. She was fed up with those sour grapes. "Listen, no matter how bad Amelia's reputation is, you losers who can't even find a partner could never have a say!"
"D*mn it, you b*tch...!"
In Patrick's office.
"Mr. Hopper, it's raining."
As the secretary spoke, she glanced at the tall and straight man standing in front of the French window.
Patrick, who had said that he was in a hurry to leave, was leisurely enjoying the pouring rain outside the window. To put it nicely, he was taking shelter from the rain.
But in fact, once he had given an order, there would be countless umbrellas being sent to him. There was no need for him to wait there.
Hence, it was not this rain that made him waste his time there, but Amelia!
Since this was the case, why did he still ask the
security guard to drive Amelia away?
The secretary subconsciously tried to sound him out. "Mr. Hopper, President Ramsay may not have an umbrella with her."
Patrick moved slightly and replied, "So what?"
The secretary was stunned by his question.
Indeed, Patrick no longer needed to be kind to Amelia as she was neither his wife nor the partner of the Roxxon Corporation-
While out of the secretary's attention, Patrick quietly clenched the phone in his palm. If the woman did not want to get wet in the rain, she should give him a call and maybe he would show her mercy.
At the lobby on the first floor.
Amelia finally walked out of the washroom after 20 minutes.
When she was about to bend down and wash her hands, she suddenly heard a cry of 'Amelia' behind her.
Stunned, Amelia saw the person behind her through the mirror, "Doris?"
"Mmm!" Doris nodded her head heavily and said, "I saw you entering the toilet when I was in the crowd just now, so I followed you here. Amelia, I haven't seen you for such a long time, I've worried about you so much!"
Amelia washed her hands even quickly and then dried them while saying to the girl behind her, "Didn't I tell you on the phone that I am fine?"
"No problem! Amelia, let's go out together." Doris continued.
Amelia looked at her and shook her head. "Better not. If you get involved with me, others in the company will gossip about you as well."
"I don't care. I will beat whoever dares to say anything about you!" Doris said loudly.
As Amelia failed to persuade her while the two security guards had softly urged her at the door, she had no choice but to nod in agreement.
Fortunately, as Doris had said, the rain was much smaller. After all, it was a thunderstorm which came and left quickly.
As the rain became less heavy, the crowd in the lobby began to move and almost no one had deliberately stopped to look at her.
She thought it was a good thing. Amelia lowered her head and silently sped up her pace.
Just as she was about to rush out of the lobby, a man in black walked towards her and reached out his hand to block her so she took a step back.
"Amelia, are you okay?" Doris and her colleague quickly asked.
"I'm fine." After Amelia stood firm, she looked up and saw the man in front of her. He closed the umbrella and revealed the petite lady who was inside.
When their eyes met, the woman was stunned. As the woman came to her senses, she said, "Hmm?
Its you.
Amelia glanced at Kayla who was well-dressed, and replied faintly, "Nice to meet you, Ms. Elliott."
Kayla nodded with a smile and then asked softly: "If I have not guess it wrongly, you're here for Patrick, right?"
